However, I am still a little disappointed with the progress in India. No doubt there are a lot of people hitting the gym but walking and cycling is something I am dying to see people take as a serious workout option. Well, this post is not going anymore into the intricacies of what is right and what are options available for staying fit.

I am going to discuss something that’s more of a compliment to your religious regime of working out and staying fit. There’s no dearth of gadgets available for keeping track of what your health related specs. However, there’s a new kid on the block (would be launched in December or January) that’s providing the same service a little differently. The gadget is called as FitBit and is as small as any other out in the market.

This small little gadget can fit any where on your body, whether it is your trouser, shirt, bra or wrist. It keeps a track of how much calories you have burnt for the day, what amount of exercise you need. Whether you have slept well. It is one of the most accurate pedometer out in the market. Priced at $99 I guess it’s worth a shot.

It’s Wi-Fi enabled and uploads the data to the fitbit site on your profile if you are in 25-50ft from the basestation. The battery on FitBit stays for 10 days and is rechargable. You dont have to pay for the profile you have on the website. It’s also compatible with both Mac and Windows.
