Apple clearly took Vista as the opportunity to break through the Windows community by focusing on how troublesome Windows software is and how secure and trouble-free Mac is.

This time when Microsoft is promising that Windows 7 will not be a disappointment; Apple does not leave a chance to say “We’ve heard that before!”

From what I have seen and experienced so far I think Windows 7 is nothing like Vista when it comes to freezing and crashing. Also, I’ve read quite a few comparisons and reviews where Windows 7 outperforms Snow Leopard in certain cases.

Maybe this (somewhat) positive press in blogosphere is making Apple a bit cranky. So, what’s the next best thing to do? Launch new Anti-Windows 7 ads just around the Windows 7 launch date.

Watch the following ads which point out two things, 1) How Microsoft made mistakes in the past and 2) How users are eager to switch to Mac!

I know quite a few people who tested Windows 7  beta and RC and are very excited to own a full version as soon as it is officially released.

There is no mystery around the release date of Windows 7 which is October 22nd but the prices were being speculated. Well, today all of that ends as the prices of all the versions of Windows 7 are announced.

Following is the price list of upgrade packages of Windows 7

And the retail prices for full packaged of Windows 7

  • Windows 7 Home Premium (Full): $199.99
  • Windows 7 Professional (Full): $299.99
  • Windows 7 Ultimate (Full): $319.99

The company also announced a special 50% discount on Windows 7 pre-order for its customers in US, Canada and Japan. Windows 7 Home Premium (Upgrade) for $49.99 and Windows 7 Professional (upgrade) for $99.99.

This offer ends July 5th in Japan and on July 11th in US and Canada. Customers in UK, France and Germany, will be able to pre-order starting July 15th through August 14th.

Starting today, 26th of June, anyone who buys a PC with any version of Vista loaded will be eligible for an upgrade of a similar version of Windows 7.

Windows 7 will be launched in 14 languages on October 22nd and in 21 laungages on October 31st. This is the first time ever Microsoft will be releasing an OS with all the supported languages within a week from its release.
