Whether you read about Steve Jobs revival of Apple or Bill Gates’s adherence to the concept of propritory softwares, we all are influenced by the real life stories. Does it have to be an influential tale for us to read. I don’t think so. We human beings get excited reading the life stories of fellow human beings and this is what a service called Tokoni is bringing to you.

Tokoni is a site that allows it’s users to post, share and read stories of other members. Whether the stories are meant to lighten up your mood or inspire you in some way or other. Tokoni was launched in late 2007 and has recently come out of Beta. That means it’s open for every one.

The purpose of the site is to share stories which are based on the real life of ordinary people like you and me. Also, the stories can get as simple as one’s which talk about how someone got engaged and so on. This is what the members of Tokoni get when they sign up for the service:

post personal stories and experiences on the site – be they compelling, cathartic, funny, helpful, inspiring or even absurd – that can inform, entertain and help others in a way that only first-hand, human-interest stories can do

browse or search the site by category, hub, member or story to access the voices of experience to many of life’s diverse happenings

create a “collection” of stories, like a personal “play list,” to group favorite stories or accounts from the same “life episode” (i.e. wedding stories, family stories, travel stories, etc.)

connect with other members over shared stories of interest and experiences of others

post comments and reward tokens to liked stories and authors

link stories to hubs where groups of people can share stories and join discussions

follow other users’ stories of interest

enhance personal posts by uploading videos and photos for an even more comprehensive story

You can not only get to read the stories based on categories, genre, keywirds but also based on the location of the story teller and also by their connection.

Other features include posting comments on the stories and placing requests for the stories. You also have hottest stories from each hubs that you can read.

What’s missing is that neither of the divisions (category, hubs, genre, users) nor the site has a support for RSS.
