Valleywag, one of my favorite blogs which is a pit full of sarcasm and dirty but entertaining tricks made an interesting offer to people who are in position of the upcoming Apple’s iSlate (tablet).

According to the offer anyone who sends a exclusive picture will be awarded with $10,000, $20,000 for a video showing iSlate in action, $50,000 for pictures or videos of Steve Jobs holding one and the ultimate bounty of $100,000 to let the guys at Valleywag paly with the Apple tablet for an hour.

All the entries are supposed to be sent to gabriel@gawker.com. It goes without saying that the participants anynomity will be maintained. The award money will only be granted after matching the pictures or video that are sent in with the once at the actual announcement leaving little room for the Photoshop God’s to walk away with the prize money.

TechCrunch rightfully points out that it could result in a lawsuit against Gawker media as people who have the information have signed an NDA and such offers provokes them to go against the law.

But reading the post on Valleywag, it looks like they are aware of the legal complications and are walking the thin line between the rights and the wrongs of the contest.

And yea, I’ve already seen an interesting submission in the posts comments which looks like winner!!

TechCrunch today showed off its CrunchPad’s Prototype B. It is a tablet like device which lets you browse the internet, watch videos, have video conference and other internet related activates.

The price of this device was originally set to be around $200, however, as the post says the manufacturing cost could push the price up to $299, which I think is still reasonable for someone who would like to add another gadget to the collection.

Let’s look at the tech specs of this product:

Device has a 12-inch touch screen with 4:3 aspect ratio which offers a resolution up to 1024×786. It is loaded with Via Nano Processor, 1 GB RAM and 4GB Flash drive. The 4GB space is mainly filled with the OS(linux) and the browser, what’s left is for the browser and other cache files.

The device also has a Camera, Four cell battery and offers Wi-Fi connectivity which makes it a perfect internet machine.

Watch the video below to see this gadget in action. Keep in mind that this is just a prototype, so, some of the features might not work as they are suppose to.

My two cents.. Like I said earlier, it’s a great gadget to be added to ones collection but I don’t know how practical this device would prove to be. Instead of carrying a 12.5-inch device around which only lets me use the internet partially, why wouldn’t I carry around one of the small netbooks?

I think the CrunchPad falls somewhere between a gadget like Archos 7 and a compact netbook available on the market.

I expect to see a internet ready device similar to CrunchPad but not as big, or may be which expands when you need it and grows down when you don’t.. something with a flexible screen. Also, I would like to see more storage space with the ability to install addons and plugins.

That said, Crunchpad makes to my “must-have” gadget list.
