This is not the first time we are reporting about the Sony playstation phone. There have been rumors and beliefs about Sony pushing out a playstation phone long since years and that was one instance when we reported about the Sony PSP Phone.

But besides that, the newest rumor/belief comes with the news of Sony’s plans to even launch the Sony play station pad, but this is said to be mythical belief for now, unless any official word hits the surface.

Sony is planning to launch its much hyped and awaited PSP Phone this year and it’s been under the playtoy of lab work for over 3 years, as allegedly believed.

What’s the hype about the Sony PSP Phone? Well, it’s a sony playstation fused with a smart phone. Sony Playstation Phone will allow the users to download the games directly on the device and play them.

Since it is a playstation-based phone, the PSP should support the existing plethora of games from the Sony PSP games galore as well as the new set of games that are reportedly believed to be under development.

So what is this Sony PSP Tablet like? The Sony Playstation Pad will be a hybrid of a netbook and a PSP with ebook reader capabilities, reported the Wall Street Journal.

You know that tablet PCs are not good enough for gaming. And that’s a fact that goes with almost all tablet PCs that we know. But, with Sony’s endeavor to launch a PS Pad, you may want to reconsider that opinion.

Besides, the Sony Playstation Tablet (also known as Sony PS Pad), which is believed to be Sony’s answer to Apple iPad is also under works and should surface officially some time soon this year.

A unnamed web service, presently referred to as, Sony Online Service, which is just like the Apple iTunes, will savor the PS Pad. If the Sony PSP Phone and the Sony PSP Pad strike reality soon enough, Sony could think of bolstering its hold in the portable devices arena.

These rumors are already beginning to occupy our fantasies pleasantly, however there are not much details to simulate the scenarios on either of these. But you may want to click here to know more.

Hold your breath because Sony is here to mesmerize hard core gamers and PSP lovers with their new concept phone. The Sony PSP concept phone will be called Sony PSP Phone or better say Sony Ericsson PSP Phone for it will inherit all the gaming lineaments of the Sony PSP brand family and yet be an Ericsson phone when you want.

It seems that the Sony PSP Phone will boast all the features of a smart phone as well as consume the traditional game sport of the Sony PSP. This will ease Sony’s job of converging the Sony PSP into a Sony Ericsson PSP Phone as the Sony already has support for a camera, Wi-Fi, music, video and a web browser in selective models and above all the best in the field gaming platform.

You can expect the Sony PSP Phone to support all or at least most of the PSP lineup of games. Even if it does not, Sony is already working on many new titles. If this is not enough, a lot of third party developers will probably arch the web with compatible games for the Sony PSP Phone once it is developed and launched.

Featured : Rumored PSP Phone Concept

Sony will probably have to put in stringent efforts to enhance battery backup time of the Sony Ericsson PSP Phone, add a lot more of internal memory or provide support for greater external storage options, perhaps digital memory like the Sony PSP Go. We may also expect the Sony Ericsson PSP Phone to flaunt touch screen sensitivity on its 3″ wide display.

This should definitely sound similar to Sony Ericsson’s recently launched F305 Gaming Phone. Is Sony planning to battle with Nokia’s N-gage platform? Will Sony PSP Phone will create a niche for itself in the market? Are they going to skim down the bulky PSP into a sleek and stylish PSP Phone?

Featured : Rumored PSP Phone Concept

There are many more questions in the air.It will be great if they plan to include GPS support as well to complete the Sony PSP Phone as an all-in-one gadget. But, it would be very waffling for us to report whether the Sony PSP Phone will be developed or not as the ties between Sony Corporation and Swedish mobile giant Ericsson are undecipherable and no official confirmations yet.
