<p><a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/samsung/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Samsung">Samsung</a> has <a href="http://www.samsunghub.com/2009/06/10/samsung-launches-solar-guru-worlds-first-solar-powered-phone/" target="_blank">introduced</a> its ‘<a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/samsung/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Samsung">Samsung</a> E1107 Crest Solar’ <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/mobile/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Mobile">mobile</a> phone which is also known as ‘<a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/samsung/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Samsung">Samsung</a> Solar Guru’ in India.</p>
<p>It is a solar powered basic <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/mobile/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Mobile">mobile</a> phone that is built on the ‘green’ concept and has finally lined itself in the array besides <a href="http://www.nokia.com" target="_blank">Nokia</a> and <a href="http://www.sonyericsson.com" target="_blank">Sony Ericsson</a> which have also designed models on the &#8216;green&#8217; earth concept; of course they are not Solar though.</p>
<p>Although what lines up in the array of <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/samsung/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Samsung">Samsung</a>&#8217;s <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/mobile/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Mobile">mobile</a> phone as the world’s first solar powered phone, it will soon a nudge competitor when Sharp releases its <a href="http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10248896-1.html">SH002</a> <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/mobile/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Mobile">mobile</a> phone (on June 24th) that is built on the same concept but has much better features than the Solar Guru.</p>
<p><span id="more-3899"></span></p>
<p>The <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/samsung/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Samsung">Samsung</a> Solar Guru features a 1.52inch screen with a CSTN display that offers 65K colors at 128&#215;128 pixels. It is a 500 entries phone book and comes with a flash light,mp3 ringtones, a speaker phone and a security feature what <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/samsung/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Samsung">Samsung</a> calls <a href="http://www.lossproofmobiles.com/">Mobile Tracker</a> to trace your lost or stolen <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/mobile/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Mobile">mobile</a> phone. To keep yourself entertained, you can listen to the radio on its FM or have some fun with its built-in games.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/solar-guru.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="557" /></p>
<p>A standard Li-on 800mAh battery powers the phone which can be charged either using the traditional charger that comes with it or using the solar cell on its back, so you will definitely like spending more time in the Sun.</p>
<p>An hour of charge through the solar cell will power the phone for a talk time of up to 10 minutes, which means it takes 40 hrs approximately for a complete charge on the battery through it.</p>
<p>The solar phone supports a dual band (900/1800) GSM network and weighs 82gms. It will be available in black color at an affordable price of 59$ or 2,799 INR unlocked. It is now available in India and is expected to be also released in Europe, Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia and Latin America.</p>

It is <a target="_blank" href="http://www.mobilenewscwp.co.uk/News/138978/samsung_splashes_pd45m_on_pixon_ads.html">said</a> that <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/samsung/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Samsung">Samsung</a> has spent about &pound;4.5m on marketing which includes, Print, TV, Online, etc.. </p>
<p> The marketing campaign takes life starting next week (Nov <img src='http://tnerd.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif' alt='8)' class='wp-smiley' /> in UK. Launch of the phone is a little bit of a mystery as we hear to many voices announcing the launch date. Earlier the launch date was Mid-October then End of October and now Mid-November is the due date.</p>
<p> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.phones4u.co.uk/promotions/handsets/Samsung_Pixon_M8800/">Phones4u</a> has a page up talking about <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/buy-samsung-pixon">Samsung M8800 Pixon</a> where you can buy it from, however, when you try to buy the phone the page tells you that the phone is due launch mid-November.</p>

<p>We <a href="http://tnerd.com/2008/09/30/samsung-pixon-m8800-a-camera-with-8-megapixel-camera-3g-fm-radio-touch-screen/">reviewed Samsung Pixon features</a> and just by the looks of it, these features make the phone well worth the wait. <p> Our readers from UK can <a target="_blank" href="http://tnerd.com/tag/buy-samsung-pixon">buy Samsung M8800 Pixon</a> from here once the phone is launched. In the meanwhile look forward to the ads in TV and other forms of media; I am actually waiting to see what they spent &pound;4.5m on.</p>
