So how does this software work? All you got to do is add a URL you want to block and then select for how long you want to block it. For example 1 day or say 30 minutes, once you are sure of how long do you want to block it for, hit the Block button and you are done.

Next time you visit the blocked URL during the time you’ve selected it won’t show you the site instead it will show you the content from ComputerHelp.com.

To make it even better, there is no way of deleting a blocked URL (so don’t be ambitious with the time frame of blocking a URL) the only option you have is to uninstall the software. Let’s make that even tougher; uninstaller of this software does not come with it, in case you want to uninstall it you’ll have to download it separately.

Though the intent is good, the way it’s done isn’t.. here is why. Every time you try to visit a blocked URL you are shown pages from computerhelp.com which are trying to sell you a new product, nowhere does it say that you are seeing this page because the URL you are trying to visit is blocked. There is more of self-promotion involved here than helping people out who want to get back to work.

Uninstaller is another thing which I think should come as a package and users should not have to download it from the site separately. The software does not even have instructions about how to uninstall it.

It’s a light weight application which runs in the background and appears when hit “ALT + Space” (Default settings). Just type in the initial letters of the application you want launch on your computer, the program shows the applications on the bar and launches it once hit the “enter” key.

This saves you a few clicks from going to Start menu, programs and then application folder and launching application.
By default it works only for applications as it indexes all the shortcuts in the Start Menu, however, you can add any type of file extension which will be indexed with Launchy or you can just choose to index the entire hard disk.

Launchy is an open source project which works on Windows and Linux machines. It won several awards including SourceForge.Net Community Choice Awards, Honorable Mention: Best New Project.

This application is quite extensible because of its plugin architecture which lets you customize and add new functionality at the same time you can uninstall or disable the functionality of any of the plugins already installed.

We highly recommend this application for improving productivity and shear convenience.
