Nokia has been mum about the Nokia Erdos launch and did not make any official announcements as of yet. But, if rumors mobbing the webosphere were to be believed, the Nokia 8800 Erdos will flaunt the following features.

The Nokia Erdos will sport a stainless steel body that shines like Silver Surfer’s lustrous skin with gracefully glossy finish and is guaranteed to make heads turn. It comes with a QVGA display with 2.4” active OLED area which is covered by glass. The display shines as steel when the screen is off and begins transparent when the phone is in use.

A 5MP Carl Zeiss AF lens camera probably flanked by a dual LED flash, video recording capability, Bluetooth V2.0, 3G, quality composed ringtones, noise reduction microphone, an A-GPS system, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity are also included.

The Symbian S60 platform (which is more often adored for its simplicity and support for applications) based phone supports tri-band connectivity. The keypad ascents as the slides go down only to give you an impression of a BMW convertible gliding its roof into the hood.

The Nokia Surge phone boasts a slider keyboard beneath the 2.4inch TFT screen that displays 16M colors at 320×240pixels. They could have covered the top of the slide completely with the display itself but wish I could guess what they were up to by providing a Ngage-like screen with broad bordered panel.

Users can also share live videos even when making a voice call, which is certainly the first of its type service in US by any carrier.

You can also share videos and pictures from your Nokia Surge over social networking sites like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and Flickr using JuiceCaster or indulge in full fledged browsing over the web using its HTML browser with Flash Support.

The Nokia Surge is designed on S60 platform which is probably the most open and user-friendly OS platform from Nokia which means you’ll never run short of applications when you need them.
