Cell phones doubling as digital camera is an honest-to-god established fact. But, what if they excel the digital camera itself and steal the throne? That is something the Nokia N86 8MP camera phone is supposed to do.

Basically, its a two-way slider phone with a standard numeric keypad and bunch of standard features what almost all the Nokia phones are supposed to inherit in some or the other modified or innovated ways.

To start with, a great looking 2.6 inches scratch-resistant screen with AMOLED display that renders 16 million colors and is aided by the accelerometer sensor for auto rotation of the screen.

This time, Nokia excels its new smart phone with an 8MP Camera whose wide 28mm Carl Zeiss lens is smart enough to crack great high quality shots or record videos at 30fps. Not to mention, it is supported by features like auto-focus, geo-tagging and a 3rd generation Dual LED flash for the cause.

Nokia N86: Capture. Play. Connect.

With high quality image and video recording, comes into the picture the demand for greater storage space. That is why, it is packed with 8GB of internal memory which can be expanded to up to 16GB using a microSD card.

Listen to the music from its library on a swanky bluetooth headset or switch to its built in stereo speakers for mass entertainment. Occasionally, you may also like to put its Stereo FM radio with RDS and FM transmitter to some work.

And yes, it comes with a standard 3.5mm audio jack, so you can also plug in some good Nokia headset or connect your music system for some really loud sound.

Nokia Erdos, a new Nokia phone is perhaps destined to exsert the Nokia 8800 lineup of phones. As a member of the Nokia 8800 luxury mobile phone family, the Nokia 8800 Erdos will inherit quite a lot features from its ancestors like the steel body, a scratch resistant glass, urbane looks and a truly sheeny appeal.

Nokia has been mum about the Nokia Erdos launch and did not make any official announcements as of yet. But, if rumors mobbing the webosphere were to be believed, the Nokia 8800 Erdos will flaunt the following features.

The Nokia Erdos will sport a stainless steel body that shines like Silver Surfer’s lustrous skin with gracefully glossy finish and is guaranteed to make heads turn. It comes with a QVGA display with 2.4” active OLED area which is covered by glass. The display shines as steel when the screen is off and begins transparent when the phone is in use.

Featured : Nokia8800 Erdos

A 5MP Carl Zeiss AF lens camera probably flanked by a dual LED flash, video recording capability, Bluetooth V2.0, 3G, quality composed ringtones, noise reduction microphone, an A-GPS system, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity are also included.

The Symbian S60 platform (which is more often adored for its simplicity and support for applications) based phone supports tri-band connectivity. The keypad ascents as the slides go down only to give you an impression of a BMW convertible gliding its roof into the hood.

It should have 8GB of non-expandable storage space and will be boxed with a docking stand and a wireless headset. Slated for launch for some where around October this year. Until, keep your eyes wide open for an update.

We don’t like ending up with out complete specs, not atleast when it’s about Nokia. But that’s all for now or atleast until Nokia shoots an official announcment about the release. So stay tuned.

Meanwhile, the supposedly ‘leaked’ video (featured below) of the Nokia Erdos should console you, especially the piano in the background, brings in some tranquility, moments of hope.

Nokia and AT&T are back hand in hand with the announcement of the new “socially supercharged smartphone”. Its officially named as “Surge” aka “Mako” and it should certainly make up for its name for the low price once it is launched.

The Nokia Surge phone boasts a slider keyboard beneath the 2.4inch TFT screen that displays 16M colors at 320×240pixels. They could have covered the top of the slide completely with the display itself but wish I could guess what they were up to by providing a Ngage-like screen with broad bordered panel.

The Nokia Surge boasts full QWERTY keyboard that seems comfortable enough to quickly type anything with ease. It comes with a 2 mega pixel camera with up to 4X digital zoom that can shoot pictures for a maximum resolution of 1600×1200 pixels and also records videos in QVGA quality.

Listen to the music on its 2.5mm jack headphones from the gallery or download it over the air via Napster Mobile, eMusic Mobile, XM Radio (and even stereo FM radio with RDS) and more. Users can also share live videos even when making a voice call, which is certainly the first of its type service in US by any carrier.

You can also share videos and pictures from your Nokia Surge over social networking sites like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and Flickr using JuiceCaster or indulge in full fledged browsing over the web using its HTML browser with Flash Support.

The Nokia Surge is designed on S60 platform which is probably the most open and user-friendly OS platform from Nokia which means you’ll never run short of applications when you need them.

It comes with 128MB of internal storage space which can be integrated with an 8GB expandable microSD card, that means you’ve got enough room to carry your entertainment directory with you.

It will assist you with turn-by-turn directions using the A-GPS support or precisely called as AT&T Navigator. You can download applications as you desire over the web and customize your phone to suit your needs.

TheSymbianS60 based smart phone is basically social networking centric and is designed for those who like to stay connected with their friends and family on the go whether via IM,SMS ,email or through any other social networking sites.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, USB v2.0, Class10 GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA. It supports both 2G and 3G networks and renders a battery standby time of up to 400 h (2G) and up to 400 h (3G) and a talk time of up to 4h 50 min (2G) and up to 4h (3G).

The Nokia Surge will be available through select AT&T retail locations or at www.wireless.att.com for 79.99 USD with a two-year service agreement and after a mail-in rebate. (Pay 129.99 USD and after mail-in rebate receive 50.00 USD AT&T Promotion Card. Two-year agreement for wireless voice plan of 39.99 USD a month or higher and data plan of 30.00 USD a month or more required for rebate.)

For more information, please go to www.att.com/nokiasurge. For the complete array of AT&T offerings, visit www.att.com.
