It’s the Xpal Solar Egg.

The Xpal Solar Egg is an egg-shaped gizmo with a special solar panel comfortably tailored on the surface of the Solar Egg pad.

It uses SunBoost solar conversion technology which quickly charges the in-built battery to the fullest even in the indirect sunlight.

Thanks to the Sunboost Solar Conversion technology, which was developed by Intivation, a Netherlands-based organization. This technology makes it possible to recharge a 500mAH battery to 90% capacity in just four hours of mild or indirect sunlight.

Reportedly, the Xpal Solar Egg also features an automatic power adapter, which regulates the power flow from the device to charge gadgets like mp3 players, digital cameras and cell phones in the power ranges they require and not more.

The XPal Power Egg is supposed to be available by the end of this quarter, however, price, date of launch and further technical details still remain undisclosed.

For example, you are not allowed to uninstall Internet Explorer or for that matter Windows Media Player. Also, when you update a component of windows you are not allowed to keep the older version. Nor is there a way to install a previous version.

If you are a normal user like me, then this might not affect you too much. However, if you are a developer or application tester, I am sure you’d want to have previous versions of Internet Explorer in order to check the compatibility of the site you have designed. After all not all people are savvy enough to have updated to newer version of Internet Explorer.

One of the solutions is to have different machines with different version of Internet Explorer. In short you should have at least 3-5 machines considering all the versions of IE. In a big organization this might be possible. But if are a free lancer having the luxury and inconvenience of so many machine is not a bright idea.

To cater to this need of yours, now there’s a solution to run all the versions of internet explorer on the same machine. This is a small software that installs all the versions of Internet Explorer from IE 3 to IE 6. The software is called as multiple-ie-setup. While installing this application you can choose to install which ever version of IE you want to install. This software is developed by a company called as ToredoSoft. These guys have also developed IE7 Standalone Launch Program, in case you need IE 7.

Now you can enjoy testing your website on multiple versions of Internet Explorer. However, this software is only made for Windows XP and I had bad experience with vista.

The new version of the popular browser was released last year and until now Microsoft had restricted it to those who could prove that they had a legitimate OS.

Earlier, all users had to undergo a validation test before getting IE7.However, the company changed its mind the other day and made IE7 available to all windows users. It can now be downloaded from the site:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx

This is the first time Microsoft has given up on the validation check for a major product. Users feel that this change must be due to the growing popularity of Firebox.

Microsoft kicked Internet Explorer 7 out of BETA! Though running new products in the BETA version is in fashion now, it’s nice to know Microsoft does not follow the fashion. Internet Explorer 7 is packed with lot of new features and couple of upgrades. New features such as Tab Browsing or Search Box might not attract the FireFox users as these features are part of FireFox since a very long time now. <a href="javascript:void(window.open('http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/10/default-ie-7-view.gif' rel="shadowbox[post-144];player=img;','New and Improved View of IE 7','resizable=no,location=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,status=no,toolbar=no,fullscreen=no,dependent=no,width=1441,height=871'))">Click here to view the New and Improved IE 7 interface.

Lets see couple of obvious new features you will notice the moment you open Internet Explorer 7:

Security: The moment you click open your IE 7 You will see a pop up asking whether phishing. This is a new security feature in IE which warns and protects you against malicious software, and help to keep your personal data safe from fraudulent websites and online phishing scams.

Clean and Simple: The new clean interface opens more room for the websites and hides stuff which are not required. Microsoft is following Google’s rule of “Simple is Good!”

Tab Browsing: Microsoft believes in Innovating + copying. This new feature is inspired by FireFox and lets you open multiple sites in the same windows and different tabs. Well based on my initial observations I think opening tabs in IE is a little slower than compared to FireFox, never the less it is a good and a welcomed feature for IE users. Now that IE 7 offers Tab Browsing which lets you open multiple sites in one window, <a href="javascript:void(window.open('http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/10/all-windows.gif' rel="shadowbox[post-144];player=img;','Site Sorter View of IE 7','resizable=no,location=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,status=no,toolbar=no,fullscreen=no,dependent=no,width=1441,height=319'))">Site Sorter view offers a thumbnail view of all the websites open in different Tab’s in one single window. This feature is similar to slide sorter view in MS PowerPoint. I have to accept that this is my favorite feature in IE 7.

Printing: IE 7 offers better printing capabilities and a improved print preview interface. Print preview offers print margins adjustments without leaving the print preview interface.

RSS Feeds: Well what can I say, this should have happened long ago, but it’s never too late. IE 7 offers in build support for reading RSS feeds. FireFox is expected to include this feature in its up coming release.

Search Box: IE 7 includes a search box on the top-right corner of the window, by default it searches Live.com but trust me you are better of with Google.com. So change your default search option to Google.com.

How to change Default Search in IE 7: To change your search defaults in IE 7 click on the arrow right next to the search box and click on “Find More Providers” and from the list select “Google.com” and click “Replace” in the pop up.

Add-on’s: If that was not enough to compare IE 7 with FireFox, then IE 7 also offers the option of installing additional Add-on’s for added functionality and personalization. FireFox users know these add-on’s as extensions.

Few of the other new or improved features include better Favorites interface, zoom in and out option, Site Sorter, etc.

All and all I think IE 7 is a good package is a good play around with for a while and after realizing that FireFox offers more and much faster it’s wise to get back to FireFox!

Click here to download IE 7
