With the fast paced lives that we lead, our personal lives are intertwined with our virtual life. We want to grow online as we do in real life. We meet new people, we decide to keep in touch with them, we also find our life partners on line. There have been many cases of virtual weddings. Firstphera.com takes marriage planning to the virtual domain.

With the Indian Wedding season around the corner, many brides, grooms and families are tackling the next to impossible task of organizing a wedding. While all the running around happens those moments are what makes a memorable and should be recorded and to assist you in doing so, Firstphera.com helps.

Firstphera.com is an Indian site that helps you preserve your wedding memories forever using their cool "wedsite". The site is easy to use. It is has some really neat features, some of them are a to-do-list, Guest list and ofcourse the wedsite. The wedsite itself has tons of features the to wed couple can engage in. Some of them are Stories, Pictures, Discussion forums, Guestbook, RSVP, Videos and many more. Here is an example of a Wedsite. They also have some very useful insights about wedding planning on the firstphera blog.

The layout of the site is simple and anyone can easily navigate here. There are some very mushy music you could add to your site. What I wonder about is how they are monetizing the site, because the use of this product is completely free. I did see that they’ve tried to answer it by saying they will have ads here and there on the wedsite to monetize it and if the wedding party wants it ads free they need to shift to premium. Its a good business model, but personally I would take the free version vs paying for premium if ads are the only issue.

I also had a look at their wedding shop which I must say this feature adds to the product. I look forward to them having a wedding gift list like we do in the west, where the bride and groom can have a wish-list and guests can choose to gift one of the articles on the couples list thus not having duplication of gifts in the house.

As we move forward, it will be fun to see how the net starts to penetrate more deeply into our traditional lives.
