I understand the importance of the time of our readers and hence I won&#8217;t dwell into <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/tab/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Tab">tab</a> functionality of browsers. However, when I say that you now have this functionality in <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/windows-explorer/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with windows explorer">Windows Explorer</a>, I am sure I have captured your attention to read rest of the article.</p>
<p align="justify"><span id="more-1256"></span></p>
<p align="justify"><a title="ATTabBar" href="http://qttabbar.wikidot.com/" target="_blank">QTTabBar</a>, is a .NET based <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/free-windows/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with free windows">free Windows</a> utility that converts your <strong><a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/windows-explorer/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with windows explorer">Windows Explorer</a></strong> in a powerful, <strong><a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/tab/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with Tab">Tab</a> based explorer</strong>. Works flawlessly on both Windows Vista and Windows XP, this software greatly extends the functionality of <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/windows-explorer/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with windows explorer">Windows Explorer</a> and makes your life much more easier and your work efficient. Let&#8217;s quickly have a look at how your <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/windows-explorer/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with windows explorer">windows explorer</a> will look like after installing QTTabBar.</p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/qttabbar1.gif" rel="shadowbox[post-1256];player=img;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1259" title="qttabbar1" src="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/qttabbar1.gif" alt="" width="500" height="134" /></a></p>
<p align="justify">The highlighted area in the image is how your tabs in explorer will look like. However, to install this lovely utility, you would need .NET framework 2 or higher. I haven&#8217;t been able to test it on Windows XP however, I could unleash it without any problems on Vista. Please carefully read few <a title="QTTabBar Forum" href="http://qttabbar.wikidot.com/forum:start" target="_blank">forum posting</a> to find about the known issues.</p>
<p align="justify">There&#8217;s more to QTTabBar than meets the eye ! It sits quietly next to your <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/windows-taskbar/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with windows taskbar">windows taskbar</a> and brings various functionalities like <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/qttabbars/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with QTTabBars">QTTabBars</a> Groups, Undo Closed Tabs and <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/application-launcher/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with application launcher">Application launcher</a>. Let&#8217;s see what these are:</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Groups</strong>: You can create various groups and launch them through the QTTa which sits near the taskbar. This means that you can create launch an explorer window which will have your grouped tabs loaded in it.</li>
<li><strong>Undo Closed</strong>: This is self explanatory. What it does is, it opens the <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/explorer-windows/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with explorer windows">explorer windows</a> that you just closed.</li>
<li><strong>Applications</strong>: This is more or less like an <a href="http://tnerd.com/tag/application-launcher/" class="st_tag internal_tag" rel="tag" title="Posts tagged with application launcher">application launcher</a>.</li>
</ol>
<p>Following is a snapshot of this feature.</p>
<p align="center"><a href="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/qttabbar3.gif" rel="shadowbox[post-1256];player=img;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1260" title="qttabbar3" src="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/qttabbar3.gif" alt="" width="411" height="562" /></a></p>
<p align="justify">I am too over whelmed by the features this niffty little utility has. And what makes it more powerful is support of plugins and not to mention skins. To fully unleash the feature if QTTabBar, start using shortcuts. I was wishing if someone could write a mouse gesture plugin or integrates in QTTabBar in future releases. The manual on the site is not great and needs a lot of work. However, you can find a good QTTabBar guide at <a href="http://members.at.infoseek.co.jp/Quizo/freeware/QTTabBar_Manual_En.html#3" target="_blank">infoseek japan</a>.</p>
<p align="justify">We hope you enjoyed the brief review of this fabulous utility. Please drop your comments to let us know of features you think we don&#8217;t know.</p>
