Tamper Data is one of the smartest plugin I have seen in a long time. There are other firefox extensions (like Live HTTP Headers) which let you keep a track of HTTP headers and browser-requests but what makes this plugin better is that it not only tracks the information but it also lets you edit POST parameters (even when it is not required).

Users have found this plugin useful in more than one ways and have put it to use for both, good and bad purposes. With this plugin you can keep a track of each HTTP request that is generated by the browser. By keeping a track of HTTP requests you can see what information is being sent from your computer.

This plugin can also be used by web developers to perform security checks on their web applications.

Internet users have put this plugin to a lot of uses including tampering information at e-commerce sites to buy cheap stuff, manipulate scores for online games to rank higher, hack passwords for sites like MySpace, etc..

It’s fairly easy to use and does not require you to be an uber techie to take advantage of Tamper Data.

The following video shows you how this plugin can be used.

Youtube is your best resource to see how Tamper Data extension is being put to use for ALL the other reasons like cheating shopping carts, cracking passwords, etc… Click here to download Tamper Data.

My reason is because Firefox I get the power to customize it and convert it into beast of a browser. Firefox extensions are the best friend of a web surfer and a blogger for the very fact that they help increase the efficiency of daily browsing and blogging by multiple folds.

Most of you would have flirted with a good number of extension depending on your needs. If you are a heavy Firefox user you’d love the extension I am going to talk about.

Tree style tab is a wonderful extension that takes tabbed browsing to a new level. If Opera boasts of bringing you the power of tabbed browsing, then Tree style tab extension redefines the way you use tabs. What it does is truly amazing. Following is a brief snapshot of the what it does to your FireFox.

The first thing that you must have noticed is that it brings your tabs to left almost like sidebar. However, it’s not part of your sidebar. It’s your tab bar but on the left. However, you could place it on the right side, on the top (default) or on the bottom. Placing it left and right is your best bet because this extension as the name says gives a tree like structure to your tabs; if I may use a parent and child like structure.

The power it gives you is it creates a child to the current tab (hence making the current tab parent) if you click a link that’s bound to open in a new tab. Let’s see the following screenshot and try to comprehend the child and parent terminology.

In the above screenshot, Google Reader tab is the child for Gmail Tab (which is top in hierarchy). The deadzone and The Next Web tab are the children for Google Reader tab and BuddyPress is the child for The Next Web Tab.

This gives me an idea on from where I landed onto a particular page. Also, you can hide all the children under a parent tab and thus making your Firefox look less cluttered. There are various other options which can help you configure the Tree Style Tab as per your needs and hence make your browsing a much more richer and delightful experience.

Do let you know, if you find this extension useful or if you found it to be a nuisance than to be helpful!

Ten’s and Hundreds of Firefox plugins are released by individual developers every day. I looked through and found a few which I think are the best extensions which have the capability of replacing an application and saving money or simplifying a task and save some time.

Do leave a comment and let us know about your favorite plugin, and if you see it on the list we have created. This extensions can come in really handy and can improve your productivity.

Lets start, here goes the list…

DownThemAll!
This is a good replacement for a regular download manager. It offers all the typical functionality of a Downloads manager. This plugin currently has 1.3 million active users which is a testament of its popularity and usefulness. This certainly is a money saver.

“The first and only download manager/accelerator built inside Firefox!”

Downloads Page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201

DejaClick
DejaClick plugin records all the events on a browser and plays it back for you in the same sequence whenever required. For example, if you open certain sites the moment you switch your computer on, this activity can be recorded and played every time you switch the computer on instead of manually opening one site after another.

“DéjàClick is a web recorder and Super Bookmark utility designed exclusively for Firefox. You can record and bookmark your browser activities, then with a single click, replay the entire sequence all over again.”

Downloads Page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3262

Video DownloadHelper

This plugin lets you download videos from a LOT of sites. Unlike the RealPlayer plugin this does not offer a video download on mouse over on the context menu. The best thing about this plugin is that it shows a list of 200+ sites from which videos can be downloaded.

"The easy way to download and convert Web videos from hundreds of YouTube-like sites. This works also for audio and picture galleries."

Downloads Page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006

FireFTP
This has got to be one of the best extensions every made for Firefox. I use it day in & day out and “almost” never had an issue with it. I highly recommend this plugin for bloggers and webmasters, I love it for its simplicity and for the fact that it is free.

“FireFTP is a free, secure, cross-platform FTP client for Mozilla Firefox which provides easy and intuitive access to FTP servers.”

Downloads Page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/684

Gspace
This extension simply connects to your gmail account and lets you upload or download files off the gmail space. Every time a file is uploaded you will see an e-mail in your account with the file attached. If the file is deleted using Gspace the e-mail disappears too.

“This extension allows you to use your Gmail Space (4.1 GB and growing) for file storage. It acts as an online drive, so you can upload files from your hard drive and access them from every Internet capable system. The interface will make your…”

Downloads Page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1593

Firebug
Firebug is a MUST HAVE plugin for web designers or anyone who does any type of development online. Firebug lets you easily analyze, edit code or view CSS or JS while at the site.

“Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page… Firebug 1.2 requires Firefox 3. Firefox 2 users should install the older 1.05 version of Firebug.”

Screengrab!
Screengrab saves time and machine resources. It does not run as a separate program unlike most of the other screen capturing programs. As it is a Firefox plugin, it only works within the webpage area.

“Screengrab saves entire webpages as images…”
