Cooliris has launched it&#8217;s very popular cooliris application for iPhone. I have been a regular user of this application and I can assure you that cooliris has the potential of becoming one of the <a href="http://tnerd.com/2008/08/15/best-iphone-apps-applications-18-free-iphone-applications-that-will-make-you-buy-an-iphone/">best iPhone Apps</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span id="more-2017"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Cooliris which was earlier known as PicLens is a service that makes your web experience a very engaging one with the 3D image surfing. So now cooliris brings the same 3D surfing to you iPhone. And with iPhone being almost a perfect design cooliris will make it look even better. Now you can flaunt about your iPhone by surfing web and images in 3D format.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/iphonecooliris.png" rel="shadowbox[post-2017];player=img;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2018" title="iphonecooliris" src="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/iphonecooliris.png" alt="" width="500" height="233" /></a></p>

With a small bit of coding you can make your website compatible to cooliris. All the features of browser plugin are brought into application for iPhone. Following is a video that should give you a fair idea of how cooliris will look on your iPhone.</p>
<p align="center"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="400" height="225" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="src" value="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=2002944&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=&amp;fullscreen=1" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="400" height="225" src="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=2002944&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=&amp;fullscreen=1"></embed></object></p>

Not that web 2.0 doesn&#8217;t have mashups but the way these mashups will add various functionality for web 3.0 is beyond imagination. Also, called as web application hybrid, these mashups are going to radically change the way we access web and it&#8217;s components.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span id="more-1891"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">What we are going to see today is something which creates a wonderful mashup and provides functionality which creates a very unique experience. This service is called as <a href="http://mashlogic.com/">MashLogic</a> and is one that promises to help web surfers take back the web. Before we get into the details of what this service is and how it creates a phenomenal web experience, let&#8217;s see what a mashup means. According to the wikipedia:</p>
<blockquote>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><em>In <a title="Web development" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_development">web development</a>, a <strong>mashup</strong> is a <a title="Web application" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_application">web application</a> that combines data from more than one source into a single integrated tool</em>. <em>Mashups should be differentiated from simple embedding of data from another site to form <a title="Compound document" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compound_document">compound documents</a>.</em></p>
</blockquote>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>What is MashLogic?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">MashLogic is a <a class="zem_slink" title="Add-on (Mozilla)" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Add-on_%28Mozilla%29">Firefox extension</a> that works quietly under the hood to enrich web pages with the kind of information and media you care about. MashLogic highlights all the important stuff on a web page and provides you with more information (in form of videos, wiki definitions etc) about them. Following is a snapshot of what MashLogic does and wonderfully mashes up things for a great browsing experience.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/mashlogic1.png" rel="shadowbox[post-1891];player=img;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1892" title="mashlogic1" src="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/mashlogic1.png" alt="" width="500" height="238" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/mashlogic2.png" rel="shadowbox[post-1891];player=img;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1893" title="mashlogic2" src="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/mashlogic2.png" alt="" width="500" height="240" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Not that MashLogic is one of it&#8217;s kind. Actually services similar to this already exist. We already covered a similar but restricted service by <a href="http://tnerd.com/2008/10/08/answertips-for-blogs-and-sites-let-your-readers-understand-the-jargons/">AnswerTips</a>. Another one which is similar to this is called as <a href="http://www.hyperwords.net/">Hyperwords</a>. Another great service similar to this is <a href="http://interclue.com/">Interclue</a>. Another similar service is <a href="http://www.sphere.com/">Sphere</a>. This one however is for your blogs and enhances your blogging activities and let&#8217;s you generate great blog content.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Where is MashLogic from?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><em>MashLogic is incubated by <a class="zem_slink" title="Bessemer Venture Partners" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bessemer_Venture_Partners">Bessemer Venture Partners</a> and based in Menlo Park, CA.</em></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Following is how the settings screen looks like where you can set various MashLogic preferences.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><a href="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/mashlogicpreferences.png" rel="shadowbox[post-1891];player=img;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1894" title="mashlogicpreferences" src="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/mashlogicpreferences.png" alt="" width="500" height="533" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Right now this service is in private beta and you have to sign up for getting an invite. The business model will be of course base on <a class="zem_slink" title="Contextual advertising" rel="wikipedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contextual_advertising">contextual advertising</a> or affiliate links. I am sure this is just the beginning.</p>

True, it&#8217;s Linux. But more often than not Firefox just keeps fascinating me with stuff that&#8217;s beyond my pitty imagination. Sometime back I wrote about <a href="http://tnerd.com/2008/08/07/snowl-is-mozilla-already-integrating-concept-series-feedback/">Snowl</a>. If that was not enough, Mozilla now comes out with something which for me is just out of this world. Ubiquity, is the new concept that&#8217;s being rolled out by Mozilla Labs. Before, I define or get into the details of what it does let me quickly scrape the meaning of Ubiquity from dictionary.com for my vocabulary is pretty mundane. Here&#8217;s what the famous dictionary.com has to say on ubiquity:</p>
<blockquote>
<p align="justify"><strong>the state or capacity of being everywhere, esp. at the same time; omnipresence: the ubiquity of magical beliefs.</strong></p>
</blockquote>
<p align="justify"><span id="more-1347"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;" align="justify"><a href="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/ubiquity1.png" rel="shadowbox[post-1347];player=img;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1349 aligncenter" title="ubiquity1" src="http://tnerd.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/ubiquity1.png" alt="" width="500" height="394" /></a></p>
<p align="justify">Now, I am sure there&#8217;s some lingo expert working at Mozilla Labs for they have a perfect definition to the concept that they just unleashed to lesser mortals like me. <a href="https://wiki.mozilla.org/Labs/Ubiquity/Ubiquity_0.1_User_Tutorial">Ubiquity</a> is a Firefox extension that&#8217;s present everywhere in terms of the searched and commands that you can give to Firefox. That means now I have the power to even more customize my Firefox and if extensions were not enough to make customization easy. Let&#8217;s see what Mozilla has as definition for Ubiquity:</p>
<blockquote>
<p align="justify"><strong>Ubiquity is an experimental Firefox extension that gives you a powerful new way to interact with the Web. Ubiquity commands can do nearly anything. Ubiquity comes with a set of commands that make common Web tasks faster and easier.</strong></p>
<p align="justify"><strong>The commands that come with Ubiquity are just the beginning: anyone can create new commands and share them. Creating Ubiquity commands</p>
