Facebook’s new app for iPhone just hit the App store and its certainly worth an update. The new app is simple, easy to use and intuitive and for Social fanatics this is the Best iPhone App of 2009!

The main screen acts as the dashboard which makes it easy to navigate through different parts of the social service and as one would have expected its now easier to update your status like one does on Twitter.

“News Feed” that’s the first icon on the dashboard which lets you update your status msg. These icons can obviously be reorganized just like you organize the app icons on iPhone.

I liked the overall application two features that stand out for me is the feature where most visited or favorite profiles can be added to the second screen of the app and the simple UI for chatting with friends.

As this application was launched very recently there are’nt many users of this application yet, but might catcup in the time to come. Though this application does nothing out of the box, its a good way of sharing links with friends.

While users may initially install this application because of its visual appeal, it will eventually prove to be a fad where the links and categories wont be updated often and end up removing the application from the profile.
