With Comcast introducing the 250GB cap on monthly bandwidth, we thought we could help our users a good bandwidth monitoring software which will help them keep a track of their internet bandwidth on regular intervals.

Lets get to it right away!

One of the software I have been using since quite a while now is DU Meter. This does exactly what is required at the moment, monitor bandwidth and alert when the set bandwidth limit is closing in on us.

When the software runs for the first after installation, the wizard lets you define a usage limit and shows alerts you when the defined limit is getting closer. Software also lets you play around with a few colorful graphs which show you usage information in terms of Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, etc..

It starts as the computer starts and quite obviously shuts down with the computer which guarantees that every bit that is being transferred in or out is being monitored.

Click here to download DU Meter for $24.95 or here to download a 30-Day trial. We are giving away 5 free keys of DU meter to the first five commentators. Hurry and be the first to leave the comments!

Another application is called MING Bandwidth Monitor. MING not only offers a single PC monitoring but is capable of monitoring the Networks bandwidth.

The options offered by MING are similar to DU Meter. However, DU meters interface and options are intuitive and easy to understand and operate.

MING does not offer graphs in terms of traffic monitoring history, the values are represented in a form of a table.

Click here to download MING Bandwidth Monitor for $14.95 or here to download a 14-Day trial.

SurplusMeter is a similar application for MAC users. This application is not any different from Windows based applications in terms of bandwidth monitoring and notification options.

As expected any MAC application, the interface is nice and simple. SurplusMeter is a freeware. Click here to download SurplusMeter
