One of the things I like about Microsoft is “Never say Die” attitude. People remotely familiar with search industry would know that this is not the first time Microsoft is trying to come up with something to put up a decent competition again Google and it certainly isn’t the last.

Bing takes a new approach to search and includes a lot of options to refine search and get to the result you want. For example searching for camera will also show you reviews, comparisons, best prices, cashback options, etc..

Just by the looks of it, it is certainly worth a try, in fact I encourage all our readers to try Bing as its important to encourage competition to keep the innovation going.

Well you can’t get your hands on Bing until 3rd of June but that should not stop you from watching the following video and see what improvements Bing offers over other search alternatives.

The new way to search using only your mouse Select text on any web page or document and KallOut does the rest.

Let’s quickly see what’s the basic purpose of KallOut. For the convenience of the readers I have taken tried to demonstrate the functionality of KallOut from within this post itself.

Once you have successfully installed KallOut just select the text from within supported application (in this case new way to search) and you’ll notice a small blue balloon marked with a red arrow in the screenshot below.

Now quickly take a look at what else can KallOut do for you. Boasts of searching information 10x faster (I am not sure how they calculated the 10x factor), KallOut actually reduces your search time. Not that Firefox, flock and mozilla did not have extensions which did this but KallOut does it with much more smartness and also provides support for many more applications than just Mozilla based browsers.

Following are various applications which are supported by KallOut and I am sure there’ll be more applications being supported in future.

To add a little spice to KallOut, I extracted the KallOut firefox extension and modified the RDF file to make it compatible with Flock and Mozilla.
