Carly Rae Jepson seems to have matured a lot since her 2012 hit ‘Call Me Maybe’ and this time she is back with a brand new album called E•MO•TION, her second US album, which debuted on August 21st.
Carly was seen celebrating her new album release with a special show at the beautiful Troubadour in Los Angeles where she also met Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Lorde and Ariel Rechsthaid backstage and posed for several photos which she shared over Instagram. Tom Hanks plays a part in her video “I Really Like You” while Lorde and Ariel Rechsthaid appear in the songs “All That” and “When I Needed You.”
With fans and guests going wild at the Troubador, Jepson took to Instagram to say, “Show was so fun. Crowd was fire. I’m not going to sleep tonight. Thank you!!”
The new album has a different approach to alternative rock, an artistic one. Songs like y “Warm Blood,” and “All That” have seen master touches from Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij and Blood Orange’s Devonte Hynes. Even Swedish artists have had a role to play in the new pop masterpiece. On the whole, the songs radiate happiness, victory and positivity. Carly is now a big girl!
