Disney and Kingdom Hearts fans were in for a real treat at the Disney D23 Expo this year. Square Enix and Disney Interactive revealed that Kingdom Hearts III, the popular game that everyone has been looking forward too, will feature Big Hero 6, the Disney animated movie. In other words, you will soon get to see Sora, Donald, and Goofy on new adventures in their world of San Fransokyo (fictional) within Kindom Hearts 3.
Talking about the collaboration and giving the audience a sneak preview of the new game world, Roy Conli, producer of Big Hero 6 said, “Big Hero 6 is such a special film for me – and we always made sure that each action sequence had a very special meaning. The themes in Kingdom Hearts and Big Hero 6 match very well. For instance there’s friendship, really important to both stories, and then of course light over darkness. The story will take place after the events of the film, after Hiro and the gang have formed a heroic team. Not only will this allow us to explore all new adventures focussed on great action, but we’ll also get to see Baymax again.”
Though the release date for the game is yet to be announced, fans are already excited about the new action RPG which is expected to arrive on PS4 and Xbox One. Game director Tetsuya Nomura gave a glimpse of a concept art for the new world while executive producer Shinji Hashimoto said that all keyblades will get special transformations. Baymax also gets a makeover and becomes a dark, evil Baymax in black armor.
