When Johnny Depp appeared on stage at the Disney’s D23 Expo on Aug. 15 dressed in full pirate regalia it confirmed the return of Captain Jack Sparrow in a new tale called Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell no Tales. But the best news for waiting fans is that the fifth instalment of the popular pirate movie will see the reunion of the famous duo Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) who was missing from the last movie.
The announcement at the D23 Expo took fans completely by surprise and when it was announced that Jack Sparrow and Will Turner would once again be seen together, the applause from the crowd was deafening. Depp, dressed in full Captain Jack Sparrow costume, teetered onstage, threw grapes at the audience in a short performance as the Captain.
The movie, which is scheduled to release on July 7, 2017 has already been listed on IMDB and judging from the short teasing summary, is as exciting as its predecessors.
Dead Men Tell no Tales will see the hapless, crazy and hilarious Captain Sparrow up against his oldest enemy, Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) who has escaped from the Devil’s Triangle with his band of ghost pirates and is on a rampage to send every pirate down to Davy Jones locker! Jack and Will Turner need to find the mythical Trident of Poseidon to stop Captain Salazar’s reign of terror.
Directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, the cast includes Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario. We will also get to see Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) in this movie but there is no word on the return of Elizabeth (Keira Knightley).
