The Star Wars craze never really died down ever since it achieved the status of pop cult in 1977 and for nearly four decades, the movie series has continued fascinate succeeding generations. So when Disney acquired Lucasfilm (the series was created by George Lucas) and announced three more Star Wars movies starting with Star Wars (VII): The Force Awakens later this year, fans around the world were ecstatic!
The last Star Wars movie to hit the screens was The Return of the Jedi in 1983. It has been more than 30 years since then fans were yearning for another glimpse of their favourite characters and the famed lightsabres. When the new movie was finally announced, rumours and speculations sprung up about the characters. Here is a list of the Star Wars series of films both past and future:

Both Disney and director J.J. Abrams have been close lipped about the new universe and the characters. What we do know is that the movie has a new set of personalities like Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson) who play the bad guys.
For the good guys we have Rey (Daisy Ridley) and ex-Stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega). The movie has scenes set in the once-peaceful, now destroyed village of Jakku. We also get a glimpse of Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) and droids R2-D2 and BB-8.
