Back in the 1980s the original game was popular, now its makers have decided to bring back a remastered version of the 2012 sequel called Wasteland 2. A sequel to the original 1988 game Wasteland, Wasteland 2 is set in post-apocalyptic American Southwest and was launched via a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2012.
This time, ‘Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut’ is expected to bring a variety of new gameplays and turn-by-turn tactical fights including quirks and perks which are personality traits and team characteristics that actually modify the way the game is played. The game’s interface, environments, texture, graphics (Unity 5) has all been redesigned along with “fully redone character and level art.”
In addition to all this are the new features:
- Quirks – personality and character traits that give the gamer a special bonus to use in the game
- Perks – points earned by progressing through the game and used to boos skills and gameplay
- Precision Strike – ability to target specific enemy body parts to maximize damage
- Voice over functionality – new voice overs for enhanced experience
With the new Wasteland 2 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux, users with these systems will get a free upgrade. The Kickstarter update, by its developer inXile, for this game says that the new game offers “extensive rebalancing of virtually every combat encounter, loot drop, and item you’ll find in the game.”
‘Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut’ is expected to hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in US on October 13, 2015 with a global debut on October 16.
