Have you heard of ‘Logi’? How about Logitech? The PC peripherals and accessories maker that seems to have been around for ages has rebranded itself as a hip new company – “Logi” and has announced that they will move into the realm of mobile accessories.
After dropping the ‘tech’ from its tail, ‘Logi’ has come out with the Logi Blok family of cases for iPad Air and iPad mini and they are not just here to make a style statement but save your poor iPad from all kinds of drops and mishaps.
The best part about these cases is the fact that they do not compromise on protection vis-à-vis style. They do have a stylish façade and come in black, teal/blue and red/violet color combinations. According to a company statement, “With Logi BLOK, you get drop protection without the bulk and weight that is often associated with ultra-protective cases. Additionally, the Logi BLOK family reflects the colorful and bold new Logitech look, so you’ll see a sleek design and bright colors on each case.”
Drop-tested from 3 and 6 feet with a custom-made drop machine by Logitech vice president of mobility Michele Hermann, these cases were built in collaboration with the Cranfield University. The cases are surprisingly thin given their durable, rugged functionality. Here are the different variants and their prices:
- Logi BLOK Protective Shell – $39.99 (basic one with free screen protector) – iPad Mini and iPad Air 2
- Logi Blok Protective Shell – ($69.99 (with a flap to cover the screen and a built-in kickstand to work at any angle – only for iPad Air 2
- Logi Blok Protective Keyboard Case – $129.99 (magnetic detachable keyboard with Bluetooth connectivity) – only for iPad Air 2
All three cases are expected to hit the shelves in August. The company has already made it clear that this is only the first of their new line of products under the Logi brand but has declined to offer any further news of future products.
