As the Apple vs. Samsung patent dispute continues to rage on, another contender has filed a court case against the fruit company. It’s none other than Motorola Mobility, a division of Motorola acquired by Google in May.

Motorola has appealed in court that Apple has infringed not one, not two, but seven of its patents. Motorola also admitted that it tried to negotiate with Apple to use a license for the same, but Apple allegedly declined.

Seeking justice, the Google acquired company resorted to making the matters legal in court pulling in Apple’s infamous Siri too in the legal battle disputes. It is now demanding a ban on Apple products including iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad in the United States.

Motorola separately lodged a complaint at the U.S. International Trade Commission citing trade infringements on several Motorola Mobility patents including location-aware reminders, email notification, video players and even technology related to Siri voice recognition.

The company has appealed in their filing to ban the import of Apple devices in the United States as these products are made in Asia.

Here’s a reported excerpt from Motorola Mobility in this regard:

“We would like to settle these patent matters, but Apple’s unwillingness to work out a license leaves us little choice but to defend ourselves and our engineers’ innovations.

Apple and Samsung lawyers are burning themselves out to prove that their respective company is right, and has not infringed any patents as has been otherwise claimed in court.

That decision may be out next week  and the decision regarding a similar case filed by Motorola may be pronounced on August 24.

We are skeptical on which company is going to burn a hole in their cash reserves, but Motorola case’s nevertheless adds to the rising woes of Apple’s patent disputes amidst the company’s excitements related to the launch of the next generation iPhone.

Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone as early as next month. The upcoming iPhone is easily one of the most anticipated gadgets of this year, and is expected to get a design as well as technical overhaul. The truth about the speculations, however, remains to be seen.

We will keep you posted as more details surface. Stay tuned!
