We wonder how many we would be mentioning this until the iPhone 5 launches, but as a part of our routine to bring you every interesting update on such adorable tech, we will do it at least once more – Now.

According to a new report by Washington Post, the next iPhone will be feature a larger display. But, that’s not the only think they mention about what we are referring as purported . There’s more.

The report states that a display that’s not only bigger but also thinner than the display used on all iPhone models till date. Apple is allegedly adapting a new type of display technology that will allow it contain a better and thinner display in a slimmer form factor.

It has been reported time and again that Apple might get over the 3.5” display – a stereotype it has been using for all iPhone models since launch. The new iPhone display is allegedly taller measuring about 4 inches approximately even as the width seemingly remains intact.

However, the purported use of a touchscreen that integrates touch sensors into the LCD panel itself will allow Apple to shed a separate touch layer on the screen – as has been the case with almost all capacitive touch-based phones.

It has also been reported that a NFC sensor may find solace under the hood. This will enable high-speed touch-to-tap file transfers with other NFC enabled devices whilst allowing users to make digital payments using Apple Passbook – the digital counterpart of Google Wallet that’s one of the many interesting features of the upcoming iOS 6.

Other notable changes that found prominent mentions in and rumors recently include a smaller 19-pin dock connector instead of the standard 30-pink connector found on all iPhone models till date.

The technology integrates touch sensors into the LCD, making it unnecessary to have a separate touch-screen layer. The absence of the layer, usually about half a millimeter thick, not only makes the whole screen thinner, but the quality of displayed images would improve, said DisplaySearch analyst Hiroshi Hayase.

Besides that, Apple’s next iPhone will be slimmer, sport a redesigned front-facing camera, an additional microphone on the back for noise cancellation, and more interesting features.

October is datelined as the timeframe for , although Apple has not made any announcements concerning the date of the device or even the device itself. But, we are cognizant that iPhone 4S was released in the October of last year and since July has already passed by, Apple is likely to live up to the new trend that started last year with the launch of the iPhone 4S.

Apple iOS 6 which was announced at WWDC 2012 is also expected to be publicly released this “fall”.
