Dropbox 2.0 For Android Released, New Features & Free Additional Storage For Students Promised!

Dropbox for Android has been updated to version 2.0. The Dropbox 2.0 for Android basically adds support for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich devices. Additionally, there are plenty of new features, bug fixes and general enhancements.

The latest build of the enables users to bulk upload files to their Dropbox account, access any file or folder in Dropbox with a single tap, rename files in their Dropbox and even make files available for offline access.

All this from the comfort of their Android devices, on the go. Alongside this, Dropbox also announced that it’s giving away 500MB of free online storage space to students on every student they invite to join Dropbox. Well, that’s double the fun!

Here’s a quick look at the features in Dropbox Android app update:

As a refresher, Dropbox is a service that allows users to store their files in the cloud (online) and access it on the go — from anywhere in the world. Registration is free and upon signup, user is presented with a complimentary 2GB of storage space. Additional storage of up to 100GB max can be availed through purchase.

Users can also get up to 250MB of free space for every user they invite to dropbox and the process can be repeated for up to 8GB of storage. In the latest announcement, students will be given double this storage for free for every student they invite to dropbox.
