Apple Lately Buys iPhone4.com, Still Needs To Do Some Shopping!
According to a report, Apple recently acquired iPhone4.com domain for an undisclosed price. The move comes a year after its incredibly popular smartphone iPhone 4 went public and became the cynosure of the smartphone arena.
Just a few days ago, Apple also purchased whiteiPhone.com which correlates to the white colour variant of the Apple iPhone. It is ironic to note that Apple did not consider buying the domain soon after or before the device’s actual launch as one would expect it to do.
The report of Apple purchasing the aforementioned domain comes courtesy of Fusible which claims that the “whois” record for iPhone4.com changed from “Who Is Privacy Services” to “Apple Inc.”
Interestingly, Apple does not yet own domain nam;es for severalof its incredibly popular products and services including Mac book, iPad, iBooks etc. In simpler terms, Apple hasn’t acquired domain names including macbook.com, iPad.com, iBook.com, etc even as it is strongly supposed to do so.
Here are the reported details of the iPhone4.com domain purchased by Apple:

The Cupertino-based giant acquired the iPhone.com domain name for $1 million from a businessman back in the year 2007. It would be interesting to see if Apple acquires domain names like iPhone5.com or iPhone4S.com and their likes given the anticipated unveiling of any (or both) of these devices is just a few weeks away.
We will keep you posted as more details surface. Stay tuned!
