Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 To Get Android 2.1 Update Starting Tomorrow!

Sony Ericsson yesterday announced that it will be rolling out Android 2.1 Update For Xperia X10, Xperia X10 Mini and Xperia X10 mini Pro – the first batch of Sony Ericsson Android Phones. The Xperiaphones which shipped with Android 1.6 out-of-the-box had kept the consumers waiting for quite a long time. However, the update is officially datelined for release through this weekend.
The Xperia X10 Software Update bundle, when installed absorbs a lot of interesting features and enhancements into the Xperia family of phones. Each of these phones has its own package of joy for the users in the name of firmware update.
After the Xperia X10 Android 2.1 update, your Xperia X10 Android phone will be able to record HD 720p videos with continuous autofocus and will support five different home screens for apps, widgets, shortcuts and folders.
Besides this, there is a new backup and restore application to save and secure your device data while the new Social Phonebook automatically syncs contact pictures from Facebook and also shows when you friends are online.

The smaller Xperia phones i.e., the Xperia X10 mini and X10 Mini Pro will get improved Bluetooth functionality and almost all the goods of the Android 2.1 OS. The update is being rolled out in batches which means the Android 2.1 update will be available to different Xperia users around the globe at different points of time.

In most markets, your phone will automatically let you know with a notification when the update is ready for your specific software version and then you will be guided to how to perform the update using the PC Companion software. In that process, because of this being a big update, you will also be guided through some steps to be able to backup personal data before the update and then restore it when the update is finished.
