Facebook, by all due truth, is now an inevitable web place visited by more than 500 million users. That’s no wonder. But even with the majority of the users relying on their home computers or netbooks for signing into facebook -  presumably the most popular site in existence, the number of users reported by facebook seems to be overwhelming.

The user stats revealed by Facebook detail that about 105 million users engage on Facebook using Facebook for iPhone and iPad. Second to this, RIM’s Blackberry client for Facebook has about 60 million users followed by 12 million users towards Facebook for Android while the other mobile facebook clients including Palm and T-Mobile number in for the rest.

With iPhone and iPad sales deluging the markets, it is no surprise that Facebook for iPhone / iPad wins the first place. However, Facebook app for Android which closes in at around 12 million users does surprise us. Not that Android is relatively new against the iPhone OS to draw that count, but because Android OS savors a legion of smartphones capable of running . Why then should the user count be so steep – almost at the bottom.

While the reports reveal that the actual count of users for iPhone app as 102.2million, 57.5 million for facebook for blackberry, 11.9 million for the Android , 2.6 million for the Palm WebOS app, and about 9,86,000 people using Facebook for sidekick and 1,20,000 users using Facebook on INQ handsets, the count is already around 200 million mark!

All in all, these numbers seem to pretty much overpower our expectations and with Facebook rocketing at this pace, we shouldn’t be surprised to see users hit the 250 million mark. Quite a fair possibility, isn’t it?
