Dell Aero AT&T Revealed, Runs Android 1.5, Will Be Available For $99! (Update : Video)
Dell Aero Android Phone, popularly known as Dell Mini 3i is now officially available for sale through AT&T. Announced in early 2010, the Dell Mini 3i had kept its anticipators waiting for quite long, inevitably churning out undesirous criticism and a possibly not-so-good market position for itself.Â
Talking about its form factor, it’s a touchscreen centric beauty with sultry Palm Pre-like looks and a stylized body with a 3.5 inches Gorilla glass touchscreen that delivers a display resolution of 640×360 pixels.
A 5 megapixel embellishes the back panel of the device, while a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port offer connections for the necessary hardware you may want to plug in – to listen to music and for data transfers.
While most of the Android phones these days come preloaded with the latest build of the Android 2.2 OS, the Dell Aero will all the same launch with Android 1.5 OS. To make things even worse, it is not yet ascertained whether this Dell Android Phone will be open to any operating system updates in the future.
It is silently powered by a 624MHZ Marvell CPU and has 2GB of house storage besides support for expandable memory of up to 32GB. Soft connectivity options like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are also included.
Other interesting Dell Aero features include intergrated social networking with preloaded apps like Facebook and Twitter, support for Google services like Youtube, Google Maps, Google Talk and Google Search, AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity and access to the Android Market place.
Dell Aero will be available through AT&T for $99 on a two-year contract, or $299 unlocked directly from Dell. The Dell Aero lags far behind in the race with its Android 1.5 build, but considering its $99 price tag, it should be an interesting deal for an Android starer on a low-budget.
