Apple’s iPhone 4 antenna reception problems have been on a high now. Several iPhone 4 owners reported of call drops and poor network reception when the iPhone was held by the lower-left hand, which inevitably blocked the antenna signals.

In a press conference called by Apple earlier last week, Apple announced that the reception problem was common with other smartphone brands as well, including Samsung, LG, HTC and a few others, however, many companies denied what Apple claims to be a ‘fact’.

As a self-rescue effort to retain its self-esteem, pride and repuattion and in a bid to   keep the customers happy, Apple is now refunding the amount that most of you have spent for buying an iPhone bumper case.

According to Apple, the Antenna-aid solution which earlier costed $30 is now available for free to all iPhone 4 users who haven’t purchased an iPhone Bumper case yet. While those you have already purchased will get a full iPhone 4 bumper refund soon.

Under the recently introduced iPhone 4 Case  program, customers who have bought an iPhone 4 or those who will buy through September 30 are eligible for a iPhone bumper case refund.

Apple has also released a dedicated application to make this process easy. It’s called the iPhone 4 Case Program App. To book your iPhone 4 bumper case, you can now download iPhone 4 Case Program app (from here) and get started.

There are numerous iPhone 4 cases available through the program including some of the most popular ones like Belkin Shield Micra for iPhone 4 and Griffin Motif iPhone 4 Cases, you can certainly choose any of these third-party iPhone cases available in the list through the app. Otherwise, you can opt for Apple’s own free iPhone 4 bumper case.

For iPhone 4 purchases made before July 23, 2010, you must apply no later than August 22, 2010; otherwise, you must apply within 30 days of your iPhone 4 purchase. To qualify for this program, you must purchase your iPhone 4 by September 30, 2010…

If you are experiencing reception issues with your iPhone 4, you are eligible to receive an iPhone 4 Bumper or other select third-party case from Apple at no charge.  Download this free app onto your iPhone 4 and apply for your free Bumper or case” says Apple.

If you used a credit card for purchasing the iPhone bumper case, it’s more likely that your refund will be wired to your account. In any instance, we suspect Apple will compensate with a check or a cash refund or perhaps, with an Apple Store gift card.
