Will The New Xbox 360 Change More Than Just Its Size?
Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer addressed the concept of cloud computing at the University of Washington which led to the discussion about the future of Xbox somehow during the midst of a question and answer session.
Addressing the questions relating to the collaboration of Microsoft with hardware partners and the software services it offers, Mr. Ballmer suggested that Xbox shall soon evolve into a new form factor with revised pricing and options.
Steve Ballmer made an interesting remark in this regard. We’ve got it covered and may be you’d want to find out what this is actually about. Here it is.
“In the case of the TV we’ve got both strategies. We actually have a TV implementation in some senses built into Windows,” Ballmer said. “It works really well for small screen TVs that you might call a PC, but for that big screen device here’s a piece of hardware that we build, there’s no diversity.
You get exactly the Xboxes that we build for you. We may have more form factors in the future that are designed for various price points and options, but we think it’s going to [be] important.”

This suggests that new Microsoft Xbox form factors may surface and certainly there will be new pricing for supposedly new options and a new hardware. This is like the Xbox 360 Vs Sony PS3 slim, may be Microsoft wants to pummel the size of the Xbox chassis to confront the PS3 slim.
Is it like the inclusion of the Project Natal element into Xbox 360 or will Microsoft integrate Xbox into a set top box, like it attempted once some time earlier.
Are we looking into a Microsoft Xbox offering with services like Vudu? Will the new would-be Xbox bring integration of Microsoft’s services on a common platform or will it just evolve as a proprietary release?
We would run every which way to grab the pie and certainly share the delicacy in our posts. Meanwhile you can hit this link to know more or even better why don’t you try voicing your opinion on this, we’ll appreciate your active interaction, honestly.
