There has been revelations about the Microsoft ebook reader device that was rumored to be a tablet PC as well long since September last year.

Speculations concerning the how-abouts of the device continue to explode and amidst the rain now surfaces a slew of official information on this gizmo.

Well, to start with, we would disclose that the Microsoft Tablet PC (as it was believed to exist until now) is more of a digital note taker and an ebook reader than a tablet PC.

The Microsoft Courier Tablet is a dual screen device that’s designed to be extremely portable and powerful. It’s has a touch screen interface that allows you to flip the content through screens, scroll through an elegantly designed virtual library, read digital journals and much more.

Under the outer shell is the same OS that Microsoft Zune HD, Pink and Windows Mobile 7 Series employ and it is driven by a NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset that makes it possible to present HD videos and 3D graphics at a low-power bargain.

When the device is folded into a notebook, it’s hardly any bigger than a 5×7 photo which adds to the degree of its portability and convenience of handling it. There is a stylus-dominated input to the Microsoft Courier tablet which also savors hand writing recognition.

The Courier tablet reportedly functions as a “digital journal” which means you’ll be able to read e-papers and e-magazines, and work with or publish digital journals as well.
