Sony PlayStation 3 Will Go 3D With a Firmware Update this Summer!
“3D will be huge” we predicted before visiting CES this year and as expected CES was filled with products and prototypes that were ready to storm the markets and bring the 3D experience to the store closer to you and into your living room pretty soon.
That has already happened, most of the electronics stores in your area carry at least one 3D TV (for display only) if not, you should probably start buying stuff from some other store which has the latest stuff.
These new 3D TV’s will go on sale this summer. Sony’s 3D enabled BRAVIA LCD will be available for purchase in couple of months from now. The price tag on these televisions will be high as it is the case with any new technology in the market but expect the prices to drop in the coming months.
The company will also release a new firmware the existing Playstation 3 devices which will make them 3D compatible. The firmware will be released around the same time as Sony 3D BRAVIA goes on sale.
That’s a good news for people who own a Plastation 3, you have one less thing to worry about when it comes to playing in 3D.
Watch the following video to see 3D Playstation 3 in action. I shot this video at CES 2010 Las Vegas.
Coming back to 3D televisions, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, LG and others will offer their 3D TV’s to customers this year.
So, stay tuned and start saving for the latest innovation in the word of home entertainment.
By the way how much will you be willing pay for a 50’ 3D display? To put things in perspective, Sony Bravia 50’ without 3D sells between $2000 and $2500.
