It’s That Time of the Year – IPL is Coming Together in India!
IPL is kind of a big deal in India and now it’s big deal for Google too. Youtube is the official online broadcaster of all 60 IPL matches during the 44 day event. Youtube has setup a channel for online viewers, http://youtube.com/ipl
This is the biggest event Youtube has ever hosted online, but, I am guessing its just the beginning of an era where viewers no longer have to be at home to watch such events live. Sweet!
Online sites have already started preparing for the event by putting up schedules and teams on their sites to attract MAD (but junk) traffic during the IPL season. While most of the sites scrape content, only few put in that extra effort to offer something of real value to the users.
TopINews is one such site that’s putting in some effort to offer some value to its users. The site has the entire IPL 2010 schedule up and running. It’s easy to follow and has good filtering options that let you navigate through the entire IPL match schedule.

I had a brief discussion with the founder of the site who is based out of Bangalore. According to him the site will be investing online and offline events and promotions to woo the IPL fans and keep them coming back.
Few of the promotions include VIP tickets for the selected matches and t-shirts of your favorite team.
Cricket is like a religion in India and this religion like any other has sparked quite a few controversies during its 1st and 2nd year of business. From what I see now there is no shortage of controversies this year either.
So, stay tuned for the upcoming season of IPL and by the way I am a Deccan Chargers fanboi how about you?

What the heck is cricket doing on a Technology & Gadgets Site
Are you too in the quest to attract junk traffic eh Moderator (no pun intended, but certainly looks that way)
Lets keep the focus on Technology shall we...as your site says...Technology Diet & not Sports Diet...ROFL

Ha ha... point taken!
I alway get into trouble for writing about Cricket no matter what its about.
This time it was related to Youtube and other sites, but I guess I'll just have to keep away from it.
and by the way.. this post is SO not optimized for IPL traffic
