Google Voice WebApp Launched for iPhone and WebOS
Google just announced Google Voice for iPhone and WebOS. iPhone and WebOS users can now access Google voice using their web browsers unlike Android and BlackBerry users who can install the app to start making free calls.
The Voice web app is the workaround for Apples restriction on Googles Voice application. Though, Apple never rejected the Voice application submitted by Google, the application was never approved for public use.
The web app does a good job of performing the basic functionality of making calls, checking inbox and sending Text messages. It’s a good attempt to get rid of the need of having Apple’s approval for a downloadable application.
This application acknowledges the widening gap between Googl and Apple as the companies continue to move into eachothers markets and launch similar products and services.
The following screenshots show few of the screens from the Google Voice application for iPhone and WebOS
iPhone and WebOS users can point their browsers to http://m.google.com/voice or simply http://voice.google.com.
