How to Permanently Delete Information on a Drive using Drive eRazer

Drive eRazerErasing information from the hard drive might need more attention than you think it does. Though you manually delete the important information from the drive, in most cases the deleted information from any storage drive can be recovered using softwares and other solutions.

Deleting information permanently becomes even more important in case the computer is being donated or sold to someone else.

Drive eRazer from WiebeTECH is one of the hardware solution you can use to delete the information and be assured that it cannot be recovered using any software. Drive eRazer meets the storage device sanitation requirements of Department of Defense and National Institute of Standards and Technology.

There are two versions available, 1) Standard and 2) Pro. Standard version uses a technique called Single-pass mode which deletes all the blocks including partitions on the hard drive. The Pro version uses the “Secure Erase Mode” to wipe out all the data on the hard drive. Secure Erase Mode activates special commands built into the hard drives firmware to delete the information. This method is meets NIST standards.

Drive eRazer takes about 3.5 to 4 hours to sanitize a 500GB hard drive at a speed of 35mb per second. Drive eRazer deletes information faster than any other software based solution out there which makes it a better option.

Drive eraser comes for two types of hard drives, 1) 2.5’ Drives and 2) 3.5’ drives. You can also buy an adapter kit which lets you use your existing Drive eRazer which almost any hard drive out there.

Drive eraser bundle with adapter is selling for $172 for Standard version and $223 for a Pro version. Prices without the adapter kit are $102 and $153 respectively.
