Next Gen iPhone Rumored To Get A 5MP Camera – Just Another Rumor?
2011 is going to be a great year for Apple enthusiasts if Apple were to disclose the Apple Table at WWDC 2010. Besides this, another interesting rumor that’s been threading around for about a week is the  upgrade in camera mega pixels of the iPhone.
Both iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G have a 2 mega pixel camera  while the iPhone 3GS notched up a pixel by imbibing a 3.2 MP camera. The next generation iPhone, perhaps, the iPhone 4G would be allegedly using a 5 mega pixel auto focus camera.
Omnivision, which is presently engaged with Apple for supplying 3.2 MP camera sensors to Apple for the making, claims to have earned another rich contract from Apple where it’ll supply about 45 million 5 megapixel CIM (CMOS image sensors) for the next generation iPhone, more that double of what it did in 2009.
iPhone 4G is expected to launch with either a 3.5MP camera or a 5 mega pixel camera somewhere in the second half of 2010. For now, we can say that, if the launch of the next gen iPhone was scheduled for the first half of 2010, Motorola Droid would have a tough competition.

Not to mention, this should also sound like stabbing the Nokia N97 in the chest, which also savors a 5MP camera and a not-as-easy-as-iPhone interface (as most say).
The question of the hour is – if Apple were to upgrade the iPhone hardware, will it add the long-missing and strictly required camera flash? Will it savor the iPhone with a VGA camera for allowing video calls on the device, in an easy and natural way?
Does adding up pixels to the camera mean brighter, clearer shots or much brighter social networking? Is it official or just another fake iPhone hype? All these questions are in stringent need to be answered.
For now, these speculations are asserted by DigiTimes, while the companies (both Apple and Omnivision) haven’t disclosed a word yet to justify the rumors. If that’s to be true, iPhone 4G 5MP will be God’s another installment to the chest of gold for Apple.

I have a Nokia N86 8mp; my reason for this is 8mp camera and excellent movie making ability. I had a Mac +, 4mb Ram, 20mb HDD and a light speed 8Hz CPU, so I do love the Apple Mac things. My gripe is no SD slot of any shape or size, Battery and the camera. And yes I did check out the sample pic's and vid's from the GS, sorry just not good enough from a 3.2. And as far as my friends say its not good enough for business either, at least the Blackberry wasn't a toy, my N86 photos, vid is not as good as from my TZ7, but not bad. Non-user replace battery, I would rather carry a slim line battery then a 4 x AA portable battery charger. Dual LED Flash on the N86 excellent and as a video light very bright, but I must say like some other phone brands that put both LED and Xenon Light and Flash, (nokia could learn something from this) was a great leap forward. So if apple made some changes, they may just sway some people over. If you included a camera make it a good one, Pulling you SD out and using it in another device saves battery power as I do with the N86 & TZ7, thus not having to bring a data cable around. Something all electronics makers need to do is stop this stupid idea of NON-GENERIC USB CONNECTIONS my TZ7 & N86 both have Proprietary data connections and usb the other, neither of which fit any thing else.
