Mystery Shopper Scam E-mails from Denis Hunt – Micro Consult Concepts Inc.

i received the mystery shopping email exactly as above today 1/1 10

i got an email from denis hunt I told him my name and address phone number my mistake hopefully I don't get burned I didn't give out social number or bills or anything and I haven't gotten anything in the mail I hope not to I sent a message saying okay I made a mistake I have no clue who you guys are do not bother me or send me anything any phone calls will be recorded and any mail will be turned over to the police I called the number he had listed and an indian woman told me to leave a message i'm glad I looked into it before I went any farther seemed to good to be true and it was ha ha everyone should always remember if its to good to be true it probly is.

Thanks for posting this, I too recently got the same email, and was immediately suspicious and so typed the business name in my search and up came this blog. I am getting tired of these people from India coming up with one scam after another, we give them jobs to do for us and they repay us by trying to scam us

I too received the bogus offer, email contents pasted below, I am waiting to see what crap they send by mail, & if it asks for personal info like SS number i will be forwarding the mess to Federal Trade Commission (FTC) & law enforcement here in Michigan. I am a Vocational Counselor with the State of Michigan Department of Labor, Energy & Economic Growth-Veterans Unit, we really don't like have our military Veterans & civilian job seekers scammed like this.

I was sent a check by UPS and he wanted me to go cash it and send it back to him thats when i knew that it was a scam i have heard about this before but its crazy how people can get your personal email address that lets me know the web is not safe at all.

Here is another scam email of the same type.
This is the first one I get, hence I almost fell for it.
What made me suspicious was the fact the email address mrdennis.hunt@sify.com seem to be coming from sify.com - a news website/email provider based in India (from what I could tell, since a lot of the news being reported are related to that country) - not at all related to "Concepts Consulting Inc."
Any respectable company would have its own domain and specific URL.

Beware of scams and check the source of your email first

I received the email below today, which s almost identical to the one posted above. It is not from Dennis Hunt, but Michael Brinkley. I am glad I googled him and found this tonight. I hope I can save someone from another Internet scam. We have to stick together and stop these people.

I thank you for your oh so accurate information on yet another scammer. I have included below, his most recent alias and emailed scam...I haven't responded just yet, as I am thinking of a way to have him busy himself wasting time and not our time...but maybe that is the same if I give it my energy.

I have been getting emails from this Dennis guy also. I did send him my name, address, and phone numbers. I got to thinking this morning that I should search this company out and that's when I came up with information. I promptly emailed him back and told him if he contacts me again, that I would give all info. the the authorities.

THANK GOD FOR GOOGLE AND PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF THAT STAY ON TOP OF ISSUES LIKE THIS.I WAS HIT WITH THE SAME SCAM HOWEVER DID'NT BITE ON IT HOWEVER I MUST SAY IT WAS GOOD THEY WENT AS FAR IN SENDING ME A FAKE WATERMARKED CASHIERS CHECK FOR $ 3,850.00 TELLING ME TO CASH IT AT MY BANK TAKE 10% FOR MYSELF AND SEND THE REST OFF SHORE TOO THE NAMES THEY GIVEN ME.SO I CALLED THE BANK " VALLEY BANK" AND THEY TOLD ME THE CHECK WAS PHONEY.THE SCAMMER ON MY TICKET WENT BY THE NAME OF DAVID WEISS HE LISTED A PHONE # WITCH HE NEVER ANSEWED " (858)206-4854 " HE WAS HOPING I WOULD DEPOSIT THE FAKE CHECK AGAINST MY MONEY I ALREADY HAD IN THE BANK AND SEND HIM $3,500.00 THROUGH WESTERN UNION SO IT WOULD BE CASH MONEY AND NOT TRACEABLE.THE SCAM WAS USEING WESTERN UNION AS A FRONT.THE ASSIGNMENT WAS TO EVALUATE THEIR MONEY TRANSFERING SERVICES BY SENDING MONEY THROUGH WESTERN UNION REPORTING BACK HOW SMOOTH THE TRANSACTION WENT.WOW OK ....... OMG I got the same email from "Dr James Wood"!!!! I knew it was really sketchy when he sent me a money gram for $970 and $200 was for myself but for some reason I had to send the rest to China?? Ugh what a skeezeball!!! Thank God I didn't try and cash the now I know for sure, FAKE money gram. UGH! Thank you for posting this article!!

Joseph, the EXACT same thing happened to me. Mine started out as a "Personal Assistant" position with a lawyer named William Berick who was supposed to send me tasks to do every week. Today, he sent me a check from "First Bank" for $3,800 and told me to keep 10% and split the rest to two accounts in Malaysia! Okay, not only is the "letterhead" for Weiss & Gardner, LLC very fake and phony, but the address they list is for a plumbing company in San Diego. Seriously, I could build a better scam than this! David Weiss's email is an aol account (payofficer9000@aol.com) which also screams fake, as are the names of the Western Union transfers: James Marshall and Israel West.

For everyone out there, I hope posting this stuff will help stop scammers. I plan on mailing this to the Attorney General's office in Oregon and hopefully get something done about it!
