Nokia X6 : Nokia’s First Capacitive Touch Phone Breathes Air, Priced Intemperately!
![]() |
Nokia X6, the most recently released phone has already gathered a lot of fanatics for itself even before it hit the market shelves. The Symbian based Nokia phone runs S60 5th Edition and seems to promise filling delight for people who wished for a more-than-a music-phone candy.
What’s interesting about the phone is that the Nokia X6 is Nokia’s first handset that comes with a capacitive touch display. That’s definitely up for a good start but a multi-touch display would have been much better.
The 3.2 inch scratch-resistant glass coated wide screen is a full touch finger-operated display (unlike other Nokia TouchScreen phones which use resistive touchscreens just like the Nokia 5800 Xpress music) and it should definitely gratify you when viewing movies and images from its 32GB of internal storage.
The Nokia X6 is a “Comes-with-Music” phone which means you’ll be able to download unlimited songs for free for a specific amount of time after buying the phone. That surely is interesting. Isn’t it?

Under The Focus : Nokia X6
The Nokia X6 has a 5MP AF (AutoFocus) camera that’s fitted with Carl Zeiss Lens and paired with a dual LED flash for taking bright and crisp epic-like images with up to 4X digital zoom.
It also records videos in Mp4 and 3GP formats at 30fps while the VGA camera on the front can record videos at 5fps, 10fps or 15fps. Not to mention, it serves the purpose of making video calls too.
The Symbian based S60 5th Edition phone supports Java™ MIDP 2.0, runs Flash Lite 3.0 and can gulp ‘over the air downloads’ directly through the OSS web browser. It also supports Ovi Maps, Ovi Contacts and music streaming over Shazam.
Nokia X6 also packs some popular games (including Asphalt4, Spore, D Mix Tour) for some extra fun during the leisure or you may also download your favorite games over the web. An A-GPS system helps you navigate through the busy streets.

Snow White : Nokia X6 White and Blue (Back)
The battery backup of the phone seems to be too ‘cause Nokia claims that the Nokia X6 can go for 16 days on standby or play music for up to 35 hours on a complete battery charge. That’s quite good enough for a music phone. A TV out (PAL) port answers your phone-to-TV needs.
Other interesting features include Nokia Xpress audio messaging, Nokia Email, Nokia Mobile Search, Nokia Podcasting support and a common inbox for both MMS and SMS.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth support and Class 32 EDGE/GPRS or 3.6 Mbps HSDPA data transfers. It is driven by a 434MHz processor (just the same that was used in Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 mini) and 128MB of RAM.
Oh and it is bundled with pre-loaded apps for social networking so that you can titter or tweeter on facebook, orkut, social butterfly and so on at the cost of a simple click.
The set of ports included in the Nokia X6 comprise of a microUSB port for high speed data transfer, a 3.5mm audio jack for your favorite headphones and a small DC jack for charging the phone.
Now all that can be yours for a whopping $891 (’cause substance demands price) when it hits the stores this Christmas in White/Blue and Black/Red color tones. Meanwhile, you may wish to click here to find more about the Nokia X6.
Rumors say that the Nokia X6 also be exclusively available through Orange at interesting contract rates. We are yet to acknowledge the scoop from the official sources and when we do, we’ll let you taste the update very soon.
