Imagine running a complete Windows XP OS on a mobile phone? Sounds like we are talking about a table PC, right? Okay, the XP Phone is quite the same, more portable and sleek, and a lot more interesting too.

ITG (In Technology Group), a Chinese firm has just teased the world’s first xp phone on its website. A pocket computer in the disguise of a mobile, the XP Phone does all that you would expect a portable computer to do.  It’s just like shrinking the PC into a mobile only for the comfort of portability.

Technically, the XP Phone features a 4.8” slide-out TFT Touch-screen LCD with gravity sensor (i.e. accelerometer), a full QWERTY keyboard and a 1.3 MP camera and also supports five input strokes.

Because, it is blessed with Windows XP versatility, it allows you to indulge in chat with your friends over yahoo messenger, windows messenger, a free msn video chat or you can even make skype calls.

Get weather updates or stock alerts, browse the web or download a ton of music and videos, do everything you can, with the new revolution called XP phone. The XP Phone sports each of earphone and microphone jacks and also has a docking connector to charge its removable Li-On battery.

The battery life is just about 7hours on standard pack, which would seem completely one strong reason to negotiate the smartness of the phone, but then, remember, it is not just another phone, it’s XP Phone gifted with full Windows XP OS.

What drives this mobile computer? A powerful ‘AMD Super Mobile CPU’ flanked by 512/1GB RAM and storage space of 8GB to 120GB via SSD/HDD to store seamless music, countless videos and innumerous documents. And let us not forget to praise its soul, the universally popular windows OS, Windows XP.

When we say that, you are liberty to think of the enormous number of applications you can install on it and make it a versatile smart phone-PC machine.

It is supposed to support both GSM and CDMA networks including Vodafone, AT&T and Orange and will have connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth an d stand alone GPS.

ITG has not revealed anything on its pricing and availability, yet. But when ever it is launched, we are sure, it’s going to make fireworks in the markets. That’s one reason, why we are reason rubbing hands in anticipation!

Well, if they call it world’s first breakthrough (with XP OS on a phone), we would not detest, for they have every reason to, and that forces us to cascade a few words of honest appreciation.

XP is still the way to go currently. Have Vista, still hate.
7 might be better but am hearing a lot of install problems.
Xp is installed on several machines and all look like 7 and run sweet. XP was crap initially but most of that has been sorted and is now mature.
