Android 2.0 Now Available for Developers – Devices Coming Soon!

Android EclairGoogle just announced the availability of Android 2.0 / Android Éclair support on Android SDK. Developers can use SDK manager (click here to download) to add Android 2.0 / Android Éclair to the SDK toolkit (click here to install).

Android 2.0 comes with new developer APIs for Bluetooth, Sync, Accounts, etc.. The update brings a lot of new features and tweaks to the existing features.

Android 2.0 is the last major update of the year. Another version update is expected to hit towards the end of the year which will only carry minor additions.

As Android releases new features with the latest releases, more mobile manufacturing companies are banking on its success by releasing new phones based on Android platform.

Verizon is all set to launch Droid along with Motorola tomorrow and HCT is also known to be closing in on the date to launch their Android Éclair powered handset.
