How Expensive can an Apple’s MAC Get? $16,187?

Alright, this is a no-brainer. I just wanted to see How expensive can Apple get? So I configured each of the Apple’s Mac to the highest possible hardware configuration. Read through to see what I found..

Results were impressive, check it out.

Let’s start with the newly released MacBook:

MacBookMacBook’s basic is configured at 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB DDR3 SDRAM, 250GB ATA Drive, Keyboard and a SuperDrive. The basic configuration sells at $999.00 a pop.

The maximum configuration on a MacBook can be pumped up to 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, 500GB Serial ATA Drive and Apple LED Cinema Display (24” flat panel – additional display).

Processor upgrades are not available on MacBook so the fastest processor on a MacBook is 2.26GHz IntelCore 2 Duo.

So the most expensive MacBook you can buy from Apple store will cost you $2,148.00 which includes an additional 24” flat panel which costs $899.

: The basic configuration includes 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM – 2X2GB, 500GB Serial ATA Drive, SuperDrive 8x, Backlit Keyboard, priced at $2,499.00.

Let’s see what the pumped up version of is priced at. I upgraded the entire hardware configuration including an additional 24” flat panel, guess what the price tag shot up to? $4,998.00 is the new price after all the expensive upgrades.

The new configuration includes 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8GB DDR3 SDRAM, 256GB solid-state drive, SuperDrive 8x, Apple LED Cinema Display (24” flat panel).

: AIR starts at $1,700 for a 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 128GB solid-state drive. does not offer any hardware upgrade options. The only hardware you can add to AIR is a SuperDrive and a 24” flat panel.

With those two additions the price stands at $2,797.00

: The top version starts at $1,999.00 and includes 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, 1TB Serial ATA Drive, ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB, 8x double-layer SuperDrive, Apple Magic Mouse, Apple Wireless Keyboard.

The pumped up version is priced at $3,849.00 and the upgraded configuration includes 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, 16GB DDR3 SDRAM, 2TB Serial ATA Drive, ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB, 8x double-layer SuperDrive, Apple Magic Mouse, Apple Wireless Keyboard.

Looking at that configuration, if I could I would spend that kind of money without thinking twice! The speed is all WORTH IT!

: This is the big daddy of all the MAC’s out there. This is the fastest machine Apple currently offers.

The default configuration stands at Two 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 6GB (6×1GB),
640GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s, NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MB, One 18x SuperDrive, Apple Mouse, Apple Keyboard and is modestly priced at $3,299.00

Now let’s kick it up a little bit, actually quite a bit. Hold your breath this is about to get exciting..

The new configuration comprises of ..

Two Quad-Core processors, 32GB RAM, 1TB backup drives at all levels, two 30” flat panels, etc.. Things just can’t get better! This system requires a security system of its own because of its price. The ALL upgraded version of $16,187

So there you go! I never thought a mac could cost me a whopping $16,187!
