Almost all of us at some point have deleted stuff that we later realized was important. This includes deleting of files, emails, videos, photos, audios, etc. and trust me deleting something that was so important can be painful and especially if any of the deleted files served as memories then it becomes even tougher!

Recently I deleted a few pictures that were on my digital camera’s data card and later realized I had not backed them up. The following screenshots will run you through the process of recovering files from the camera.

Once you click on Start button next to Pictures and Movies option you will be taken to a new window where you can select the source, I have selected Camera as shown below in the screenshot.

Once you have selected the source you need to click on Next and it moves to the next Tab i.e. Select Camera which I have done below.

Click on the desired option and then click on Next again and it takes you to the next Tab i.e. Select Options.

I selected both the options i.e. Use SmartScan and also Perform sector-level search using StrongScan. You can select either one based on your needs. If you select SmartScan, the technology it uses eliminates irrelevant and junk files from the search, making it faster and easier for you to find the files you need.

If you select the second option i.e. StrongScan it even finds the files that were lost because its parent disk was formatted or corrupted. With StrongScan you can perform a deeper scan to find and reassemble data.  Time taken to scan using StrongScan is significantly higher when compared to SmartScan.

Once you click on the Next button it starts the search and displays the result accordingly as shown below.

Once recovered point to a folder, device, CD DVD or drive to save all deleted data.
