asus_logo Almost a year after the launch of its first skype phone, Asus announced its second video phone for skype calling and mysteriously named it Asus Videophone Touch AiGuru SV1T.

It’s a stand alone Skype Video Phone that does not require a PC to work or make calls. ASUS Videophone Touch AiGuru SV1T lets you connect with your loved ones or business mates over the web to make free Skype calls.

The new Skype Phone from Asus lets you make free Skype-to-Skype video or voice calls to anywhere in the world. This feature-rich skype phone boasts 7inch color display (800×480 pixel res.) with touchscreen sensitivity.

A webcam and mic are integrated into the skype phone to enable video calls. The Asus Skype phone is not meant to make only skype calls. Calling any mobile or a fixed landline number is also possible provided you have an online skype number.

On its face are a set of standard buttons for making or receiving calls, navigational keys, home and back buttons. Also, it has two data ports. An ethernet port for broadband connection and a USB port for updating the device software (optionally, or when you are not using Wi-Fi for the purpose).

Thanks to its 7” large display and inbuilt speakers, that makes free video conferencing possible for home or small businesses. For personal conversations, Asus has included both headphone and mic jacks at the back of the Skype Video Phone.

The trendy looking Skype Phone is an easy to use device. To make a call, you’ll just need a Skype Account, the Skype Phone itself and Wi-Fi or broadband connection to get started. If you don’t have a Skype Account, no worries, you can create one easily using the smart touch screen interface of the device.

It is a wire-free device, so you don’t have to fix yourself onto the sofa or stand next to the wall mounted phone all throughout the call. The rechargeable battery comes in handy for this purpose.

It supports 11 different languages and is priced around somewhere around $300, close to its predecessor and is available for sale now.
