HP has launched HP DreamScreen brand new digital photo frame that surpasses the functionalities of a regular digital photo frame. It is surprisingly loaded with features that allow it to view pictures, play music and video files, stream Pandora music and more interestingly to be a beautiful surrogate to boring weather updates on the TV, a digital calendar and much more.

The HP Dream Screen digital photo frame is a touch screen photo frame that is packed with enticing looks and a sheeny body finish. On either of its sides, it has numerous ports for different memory cards including SD card and a USB port.

So, you can directly access all the supported media right from your memory card and not just this, you can copy media to the photo frame as well.

The HP Digital Photo Frame not only views photos and slide shows of albums, but also supports video playback (MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264 formats). You can also listen to digital music in MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV formats from its 2GB of internal storage space.

It comes with a credit card sized remote control that slips into the back of the frame when not in use. The HP Dream Screen photo frame is available in two sizes. A $249 10.2 inch LED backlight lit photo frame and a 13.3 inch LCD frame which is priced at $299. Feature wise, both are identical and differ only by their sizes and the screen technology used.

Precisely, it’s an all-in-one digital photo frame. Relatively it may not beat Kodak Digital Photo Frame with OLED display or Sony’s Swarovski Digital Photo Frame in appearance, but feature wise, it is certainly outstanding.

Many believe it is a HP Tablet PC that has been introduced to give the much hyped Apple Tablet a blow, but it does not pack internet browsing capability to be even slightly close to Apple’s Tablet PC.
