Gyration-Solid-3D-Orange-LogoWe have seen the desktop mouse evolve from a basic pointing device to one of the most capable tools of gamertainment, then came the wireless desktop mouse which took over the conventional wired desktop mouse like a storm.

The evolution does not stop at this instance. Technology has shown us the face of a no-strings-attached type Air Mouse (currently manufactured by different vendors like the recently released Logitech’s MX Air Mouse for instance) named as the Gyration Air Mouse Elite which lets us use the mouse in air.

Basically, the air mouse uses UltraSense Technology to enable air-action and connects to your computer via a 2.4GHz RF and requires a USB receiver at the other end. Another USB port can be used to charge the wireless mouse.

It works on flat surfaces as well, just like our regular desktop mouse but with 100 feet of wireless operational capability. This air mouse is designed to identify hand gestures (hand movements) in the air using a gyroscope inscribed in the mouse which also measures the angle and speed of movement.

gyration-air-mouse-eliteUsing the same motion sense technology, the mouse can also be used to deliver presentations by wirelessly navigating through slideshows and menus. Weighing just 3.3 ounces, the gyration air mouse is an exemplary of the explorable dimensions of the wireless technology besides finding place in your pockets as a very useful tool if you love to deal with things wirelessly and boundlessly.

The company’s claims its motto behind the design is to provide users with “enhanced freedom and flexibility when performing mouse actions in the air”. The Air Mouse Elite is compatible with Microsoft Windows 98 and higher and comes with the supportive MotionTools software.

It may also work USB 1.1 and other Mac systems but with limited functionality while the GyroTools software is only compatible with Windows OSs.

You can pocket this all in one wireless mouse for $99.99 when it goes on sale “in the coming weeks”. It will also be available with a wireless keyboard for a price tag of $149.99 but if you cannot wait to get your hands on it, click here to buy the other available versions from the Air Mouse series… [Amazon Link]
