Sanyo Announces USB Solar Panels to Power Your Mobile Phones!

How many ideas do you have in mind when I tell you about solar chargers? Many, I suppose. It can be a USB Hub with , Solar Watch, Solar Bag and some weird more or some of you may not mind recalling Samusng Solar Guru, which we recently reviewed.

brand_logoSanyo, the most popular brand in rechargeable batteries, has come up with USB Solar Charger, a device which harnesses solar energy to power your mobile phone on the go. It is based on the Eneloop green concept.

The  Charger actually looks like a book or office slick, which has a solar panel covering one of its covering leaves, while the other end of the book has a pouch to hold your mobile phone or any such other item.

To charge your mobile phone, however, you will have to use the Mobile Booster on its back which contains the Lithium Ion Battery that stores the Solar Energy. And then, just connect your device to the to get started.

The Solar Mobile Phone Charger has a handy hook to hang in the windows on a bright sunny day.  says, a full charge on the Booster would require at least 1.5 days or 3 days of charging time. But, 60 minutes of sunshine is good enough to power your cell phone for 20-40 minutes of talk time, which is occasionally good.

The Portable Solar Charger will be on sale starting from August 10 in Japan. No word on pricing or global availability yet, but it will definitely see a good market if it is released world wide, after all everyone loves travelling places and keeping a handy will never be regarded as a bad idea.

Crunchgear says, the single panel solar battery charger (Model No : SSL-SBSL3AS) will be available for $90 while the double panel charger (Model No : SSL-SBWL3AS) would cost you around $150.

    Energizer charger we've been waiting for, but it will supply 5 volts for 2 hours when it hits Japan in August. To juice up, you connect your USB-charging device to the included Lithium Ion booster pack, which acts as a reservoir drawing power from the panels. Nice information and thanks for sharing.

    I haven been using it to recharge my iPhone and this small unit works out so well.

    Solar Panels are definitely the future of energy, and it’s wise for people to jump into having them. The sooner the better than waiting around because solar energy helps save you a lot of money on your electric bills every month.
