Technology has revolutionized global culture and has driven home many of the traditional habits that we inherited from our beloved ancestors. Gone are the days, when for watching a Baseball match, you had to be glued to the Sofa in the Living Room (or wherever you wish you use your TV). Now, it’s the era of digital TV, the portable ones, in particular.

Portable TVs mean a lot more than just watching TV, they mean a personalized viewing experience, anytime, anywhere. You can just take them just anywhere you want, from an outing to an adventure trip or even gulp the pleasures of viewing your favorite shows on the TV by resting comfortably in the rear seat of the chauffer driven car on your way to office.

Come back to reality. Eviant, one of the most popular names in portable TV manufacturers, have come up with yet another portable TV. It’s the Eviant T7 Portable TV.

Feature wise, it comes with a 7 inch wide TFT screen that renders display at a resolution of 480×234. It uses NTSC Analog TV Tuner and ATSC Digital Tuner to tune to broadcast stations for the display.

It is powered by a 12 volt AC adapter (bundled with the box) and receives analog and digital unscrambled signals over-the-air. You can use the internal antenna to draw a signal for the TV and if that does not work satisfactorily, use the external antenna that comes with it.

The portable TV from Eviant renders bright and clear display quality when the signal is supportive and loses clarity when the signal is weak. More powerful antennas can be used with the TV for better signal strength, ofcourse, you have to shell out some $20 for that accessory. It also has two built in speakers are good enough to deliver ample sound.

Eviant claims the battery life to be 2 and half hours which is seemingly good for a portable TV of that range ($100 – $150). The portable TV can either rest on its kick stand or hang on the wall, as you wish to place it.

Eviant T7 Portable TV uses an in built battery, just like the iPods do which means you cannot use alkaline batteries as a replacement to the bundled batteries. This can be rectified, should they plan to launch a successor to the Eviant T7 with better resolution and battery life.

Input ports for antenna, headphones, and DC power flank the panel of this portable TV while the AV cable that is bundled with the box enables you to use the TV as a display to other devices that output video.

There are better options in the market for watching TV on the go, the Nokia N77 or Nokia N92 for instance, but they will definitely burn a bigger hole in your pocket than this one! It is availabe in 6 decent colors for around $100.
