Sony has revolutionized the gaming experience yet another time with the introduction of PlayStation Eye USB Web Camera which has already hit the stores. So, all you PS3 lovers and gadget freaks, its time for some motion based gaming on your PS3 consoles.

The PlayStation Eye is not just any other accessory for your PS3 but it has power to transform your gaming experience to much like reality.It can read your expressions, identify your hand gestures and do much more.

The PlayStation Eye is actually a USB camera that can shoot pictures, record videos and enable video chatting with up to 6 people at a go right from your PS3. You can share the pictures you shoot over web or edit a video using the free-bundled Eye Capture Software.

Other key features include its ability to work well in low light conditions, an ultra fast frame rate of 120 fps for excellent video quality and improved tracking and responsiveness.

A built in 4-microphone array reduces the background noise thus enabling much better speech recognition and transfer without the need to wear a head set even in the noisiest of the environments.

Thanks to the dual action 56º or 75º Field of View lens because the PS3 Web Camera can be zoomed in for that lovely close-up shots and capture the whole body for that complete gaming experience.

The PS3 Eye Camera comes in a dark black body which can be swiveled around its base for selecting the camera angle. It has two LED lights on either side of the camera, one of which perhaps denotes that it is powered on/off while we have no idea on the other.

The PS3 Eye Web Camera is also compatible with Sony Motion Controller where the camera tracks X,Y and Z motions using the glowing ball. It can “detect gender and even the age of the face, separate facial features such as the nose, eyes and ears, and even detect whether you’re smiling or not.”
