On The Way : Nokia C Series

The Finnish Mobile Giant Nokia has always stirred interest in us with its interesting line up of mobile phone devices. Basically, it started with the 4-digit Nokia-for-all phones that were easy to use, reliable and impressive enough to rule on our heads for quite a long time.

Then came into the picture the N-Gage models followed by E-Series which was targeted on Business professionals. Sometime later, Nokia introduced its media-heavy devices under the N-series Category (includes N770, N810, N800 Media Tablets).

According to a Finnish Blog Puhelinvertailu, Nokia has filed a patent for a new platform to its devices – Nokia C Series. There are rumors on the webosphere about Nokia X Series as well, though there are no official confirmations as of yet.

: The New Dimension : C For _______?

Nokia devices are basically classified into four categories like Connect, Live, Achieve and Explore. Where ‘E’ for business and ‘N’ for Entertainment were certainly unpredictable for Nokia Series, we cannot be sure if the ‘C’ stands for Computer, Camera or something else.

It can also be ‘C’ for classic if Nokia is planning to re-invent the 4-digit Nokia Phones with a new soul or something related to Mobile Computing.

While there are no clues about Nokia X series (X may be for XpressMusic) or C series being relevant to the recent Nokia-Intel tie up or the upcoming line up of Nokia’s netbooks or anyother MIDs, there is an anticipated possibility that the C Series may include devices running Maemo OS.

Reportedly, Nokia is running out of numbers for its N-Series. Is the C Series Nokia at developing a device that supports augmented reality applications just like the Apple iPhone and Palm Pre or will just be a platform the upcoming lineup of Nokia’s Netbooks? Nokia knows it better.
